A stand made of a fine piece of heavy, cypress wood emulating a rock. The top with a flat, smooth area on which to place items for contemplation or small ikebana arrangements. H 11 x L 24 cm. Japan or China, most probably from around 1920. Condition: Excellent with a wonderful patina.

This cool, retro Modern pair of German teak, silverplate and bent iron candlesticks consists of a three-light and a two-light unit; each has a teak base, a silverplated mounting plate and candle cups and bobeches. A charming porcelain group modelled as a Budai seated with five Children, climbing on his arms and legs. The base with an impressed mark. Condition: fine, some wear to gilding, base with some rust traces. Dimension: c. 24.5 cm high x 21 cm wide, weight: 1065 g.

These geta (shoes) were worn by a girl or young Japanese woman. Build up from several layers of materials, the felted soles have slits to allow access for the changing of thongs should they become soiled or worn. Small pieces of leather nailed are the heels. The upper fabric liner is made from two pieces of contrasting fabric sewn together and show a small amount of dirt and an almost imperceivable foot imprint about the toe area...

Large and old-fashioned American sterling silver tea tray, 1954. Retailed by Cartier in New York. Oval well and scrolled sides and rim; end bracket handles. Fully marked including retailer’s stamp, Gorham date code, and no. 207. Excellent condition.

Japanese Taisho to Showa period vertical scrolled painting executed in sumi ink and wash on paper with a landscape scene featuring two figures at a bridge beside looming rockery, trees, a traditional hut, and a waterfall. Painted in the style of Sesshu. Signed with a red seal at the lower right. Bone scroll ends. Scroll: 50” x 16 1/8” (paper: 21 1/4” x 13”). Very good overall condition.

Cambridge Chantilly Etched Decanter is a rarity! with the Silver Plated Base!! This decanter is 9" tall with its stopper. Made from 1936-58. It is in excellent condition -- no scratches, no clouding, no nicks.

Large Chinese baluster vase done in tones of under-glaze blue. The scene on this vase goes all round it and is done between multiple layers of borders. The main scene is all plants and trees.

The inside is thinly glazed. The base rim is unglazed, as well as the base. From the pictures it looks rough, but it is quite smooth.

The condition of this vase is very good. There are some places on the top rim where the glaze has skipped over...
