Vintage wooden Japanese sumitsubo - a carpenter line, in a form of a base with a spike, and rotating spoked wheel with a thread on it. Unusual version of the tool - it lacks a vessel part for ink soaked cotton, but has a spike. I am not entirely sure how it functions, but it is probably fixed to a wooden beam by pushing in the spike, and the thread is pulled to the desired point to make a straight line...

Wonderful dense wood with supremely beautiful texture resembling altocumulus clouds, in excellent condition. Length 5 1/4 inches, maximum width 3 inches, height 11/16 inches.

Japanese 20th century print of a cottage, bamboo, calligrahy and lattice. Signed in pencil by artist, MANABU MORI. Numbered 2 of 90. Dated 1962. The paper measures 20" wide by 24" tall. The print measures 14 1/2" wide by 18 1/2" tall. The sides of the paper have been folded to make the paper 18" wide.

Although this pattern was officially named 'Sylvan' by Federal Glass Company, it has always been referred to by the collector's name, Parrot. It was produced for only one year, 1931-2, and is scarce today. Offered here is the 10 inch oval serving bowl in amber. This tea set was brought back by American missionary who was in China 1920-1948...She was repatriated to the US immediately after WW2 and returned by way of Japan. Considering condition of Japan when she was there, set was probably made sometime before WW2. 19th Century Chinese Hardwood grain measuring Bucket with Brass trim and incised "Kuang Hsu" Emperor's mark on the side, made for celebration event, late 1800's, 5 5/8" high, 9" square-top, 9 1/4" square-bottom, top has brass mounted handle in the center as well as bottom corners. It is heavy weight made out of Rosewood, has two(2) cracks on the bottom.

A lovely signed "Hand Made in Greece Ikaros Pottery B420" with a small 4 at the bottom. In excellent condition though the rim has a slight imperfection original to the piece that is not noticeable except to the touch. The piece measures 8" (h) x 7" (w). The Ikaros factory was located in Rhodes,Greece and ceased production in 1988.

This tobacco pouch ("kochor") from Indus Kohistan is embroidered in silk thread on cotton, with extremely fine cross- tent and satin-stitch, and white glass beaded tassels to adorn the edges. The bag measures 7" x 8" with the tassels. There is a string on the side of the bag which is used to hang the purse from the water pipe ("huqqa") while it is being smoked...
Interesting bronze finial with praying buddha, probably Himalayan, and c. late 19th.- early 20th. century.

Size: 18,5 cm.
