A distinctive and very uncommon Art Deco figural jigger in the form of an English riding boot (variously called a jockey, field or paddock boot). The details of the design such as the pull straps and seams are picked out in a raised design. The jigger is silver plated and is extremely heavy for its size, indicating that its made of a high quality white bronze rather than a simple base metal. The boot's sole is marked "Made In England/Silver Plated/Approx 1-1/2 oz"

The image on this mold shows a bunch of loquat fruit, known as "biwa" in Japanese. Biwa are indegenous to SE China, and the Japanese name may refer to the oblong shape of mature fruit that resembles the shape of the musical instrument, lute (also "biwa" in Japanese.) A small "garlic necked" vase attractively painted with fencai enamels in 18th Century style depicting mountains and pavillions in a river landscape. The base carries a four character iron red hall mark. This item was probably made circa 1920 - 1940 during the Republic period. Condition - there is a tiny chip to the rim with associated 2cm hairline. No further damages and no restoration...

This wonderfully inventive Art Deco silverplate jigger measures 3/4, 1, 1-1/2 and 2 ounces. The cube joining the various cups shows measurements on one side and is stamped with the hallmark for Benedict Manufacturing Company (1894-1953) on the other. The cube is perfectly weighted so the jigger does not tip over when the upper cup is filled. This implement was created by the noted modernist designer Albert F. Saunders as a part of Benedict's "Modernistic" line...

This is a set of nine 20th Century Dresden flower rimmed soup bowls, each handpainted with a different bouquet of Deutsche blumen within lovely shaped gilt rims, marked "Dresden" under an 8-pointed star (the mid-century mark of Adolf Hamann). Condition: excellent condition (only very slight gilt wear on some rims); Measurement: 9 _" dia.

An antique Japanese Todana Tansu made of Keyaki (Zelkova) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. Original iron hardware including the Warabite handles. Eight drawers and a pair of sliding doors allows for spacious storage. Original used in Japan as a family multi-purpose storage chest, it would function well as a buffet or sideboard chest.
