A Sterling Silver Four Footed Georgian Style Sugar and Creamer Made by Mueck-Cary Co., now Towle, dating from the 1940's. The creamer is 4" high x 4 1/4" wide and weighs 4 Troy ounces; the sugar is 3 1/4" high x 5" wide and weighs 4 Troy ounces.

Like many pottery traditions in Japan, Karatsu takes its name from the city where it originated. As early as the 15th century, Korean potters heavily influenced the development of this form—helping to endow it with the earthy, simple, and natural qualities it is so appreciated for. This small dish fashioned from coarse clay and covered in a silky ash glaze. Slightly oblong with one edge gracefully arching upwards, both sides of the dish have been traditionally repaired using lacquer and gold...

Beautiful Japanese carved Noh theater mask of Zo-onna (beautiful woman). Carved out of hinoki (Japanese cypress) wood and painted with seashell and natural pigments. This mask is masterfully carved and painted with subtle detail like her very slight smile and the small dimple just above her chin. The mask is signed and has it's original tomobako (also with the same signature).

The fine crackled feldspar glazing of this Hagi composition contrasts nicely with the red ferrous clay of the base and the wrought silver globe resting atop. Along the lower half can be seen a geometric windowed pattern giving this incense burner a sense of dimensionality.

Legendary potter Miwa Kyuwa (1885-1981) has been credited with reviving the Hagi tradition of pottery after the war...

An unusual set of three Persian silver salts or salt cellars cast in the form of a long tailed bird with punched and incised decoration. The heads screwed to the body of the bird. Some variation in the design of the three. One of the group stamped with three marks in Farsi, probably indicating the names of the Silversmith, City and fineness of the Silver, 840...

These sparkly lunch or dessert plates measure 8 1/4" across. They feature Cape Cod's pattern of fire-polished optic glass diamonds and thumbprints with a large ray star in the center. Each is in excellent condition and would make a fine housewarming gift. Production dates: 1932-1984. I have other Cape Cod and elegant glassware in my inventory... take a peek. A pair of cotton tabi with sashiko and a pair of kokake. Tabi is made of hand-spun white cotton and has nice sashiko for strength. Soles are machine-woven. Kokake is also made of hand-spun cotton and dyed with vegetable indigo and has fine sashiko for also strength. Kokake has no soles and it is worn over zori (Japanese sandals) for warmth and waterproof in winter. Both are in excellent condition. The first half of the 20th century. China, 20th century, jade seal surmounted by a seated lion, stone of dark green color, uncarved. Size: Height of this fine carving is 4 1/2 inches, in very good condition.

Beautiful, large figure of a young woman carrying a fruit basket. She appears to be running to market, or caught off-guard by a breeze. The figure has many unique elements that point to a Seguso attribution although the piece is unmarked. The flowing dress, and form fitting bodice in sfumato glass, the basket done in textured clear glass with gold powders; the individual pasta glass fruits, the fine attention to details...

Vintage korean black lacquer tobacco box with inlaid mother of pearl. The lid of the box has a beautiful design of birds on a peony branch. The interior has a lid for to cover the tobacco or incense compartment with an inlaid design of an incense burner. There is a compartment for a lighter and a bronze ash tray. It measures 2.5" tall 12" wide 7.5" deep.
