This rare Morgantown Genova Two-Tone tumbler is a beautiful deep cobalt Nanking Blue and golden topaz. The flared bowl is blown panel optic attached to the blown bell foot. This art deco tumbler glass stands 5 1/4" high and 3 1/2" across the cut and finished rim. It is in excellent, unused condition. Insurance and confirmation are included in the price.

The Cape Cod pattern was produced by Imperial Glass Company from 1932 through 1984 when they closed. Not all pieces were made throughout those years, but the long production period is testimony to its lasting popularity. Offered here is the marmalade jar & cover that dates to the 1940's - 50's. Unlike many of the pieces in the genre of Kyo-ware, this tea bowl is decidedly demure in appearance. Milky, flowing glaze pools in places along a backdrop of ivory and coral pink sides, contrasting nicely with the rough, unrefined clay of the base. In the center of the kodai is a decorative swirl pattern reminiscent of the yin and yang.

The potter, Kanpu Kawanabe (1873 - 1947) was born into a family of weavers but went on to be trained in many of the arts related to tea ceremony...
