Charming Chinese figure of a monkey with young monkey and a branch full of peaches carved out of beautiful orange agate, standing on an intricately carved wooden base also with peaches. Although there are earlier depictions of monkeys in Daoist texts, one more popular Ming Dynasty story from "The Journey to the West" tells of a monkey who steals a peach from the garden of the Jade Emperor. A finely carved Chinese agate in the form of a popular motif often seen in Tibet which is the windhorse. The use of Tibetan motifs in Chinese arts began during the Ming dynasty with patronage of the Tibetan high lamas and continued onwards into the Qing Dynasty. The windhorse is carrying a pecha or sutra text, a signature motif often found on windhorses. The stylized ribbons and the waves are done in the Chinese style. A classic Art Deco figural cocktail shaker in the form of traditional milk can by Reed & Barton. The “Milk Can” was introduced in 1959 and came in two sizes, with the 32-ounce size retailing for $35. This shaker was a luxury product and was made with Reed & Barton’s highest quality plating. The bottom is stamped “Reed & Barton/27/32 oz.” It also retains the original paper lable.

A sterling silver vermouth dispenser in the form of a watering can by Cartier. When tipped, the dispenser lightly sprinkles just a drip of vermouth into the glass for the perfect martini. A sterling silver corkscrew by International Silver in one of the company’s 1930s Art Deco designs. Clearly patterned after the popular Scandinavian designs of the period, this design is very similar to “Royal Danish”, “Sonja” and “Norse”. The handle is marked with International’s older hallmark and the pattern number “NX14”.
