Unique Chinese carved rock crystal double carp snuff bottle. This snuff bottle features two carps reaching upwards against a sea wave base. The smaller carp with it's mouth open and the larger carp with a rock crystal stopper in it's mouth. The double carp is a symbol in Chinese mythology for a happy union in marriage.

This faience figural group was produced in Bologna, Italy by Aurelio Minghetti in the early 1900s. This piece was sold by the retailer “Carbone” of Boston, who handled European imports from about 1910 to 1920. It measures 16 inches high, 9 1/2 inches wide, and 8 inches deep.
