Oversized hanging scroll, portraying a beautiful young noble woman in travel dress, looking down and holding a large head. While her orange kimono is decorated with cherry blossoms, her overcoat is decorated with maple leaves in autumn colors. Signed: Tojo. Red seal: Seizan. Ink, mineral colors and gofun on silk. Japan, Taisho era, 1920s.

DESCRIPTION: A very good woven oak-splint basket in lobed buttocks form, used as a field gathering basket or a market basket for goods. This large early 1900’s Pennsylvania basket has a sturdy bentwood handle with double bentwood-wrapped rims; old varnish finish. Very good condition with minor usage wear. For size reference, the last photo in this listing shows this basket displayed on top of our Country Corner Cabinet (#A-CBL2). DIMENSIONS: 20” wide x 17" high.
A Grimwades Royal Winton Tuba green lustre Flower Aid frog. This decorative English pottery flower frog or support has a luster finish and it was made by Royal Winton in the Grimwades Tuba series. It has the black Grimwades backstamp and the registry number for 1922. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, damage or repairs other than some overall crazing. An impressive Art Déco period ceramic mantel clock set, marble glazed. From the 1920’s, French or Belgian, unmarked. Width of centre piece " 12 ½ / 32 cm, height of side pieces "6 ½ / 17 cm. Condition: The original clock has never been repaired (works only sporadically) and there are a few rim frits to the back (cf. last picture).

A fine Japanese antique Satsuma tripod koro with lid. Decorated on one side with a group of children playing and on the other side a garden scene with flowers against a fence. The domed cover decorated the same with a seated foo dog finial resting on a ball. Resting on three animal head legs. All highlighted with gilt.

Condition: Very good condition. There is a small chip on the mane and the tail of the foo dog.
