Original circa 1930's Chocolat Vinay box, circular, 9 3/4" diameter, 2 1/8" in height, the outer surfaces covered in lithographed patterns featuring what appear to be white roses against a Deco style patterned background. A beautiful early 20th C. Chinese enamel on brass metal washer. In excellent condition. L:12cm W:11cm Marked. $115

A vintage mid century modernist ashtray by William Spratling with three ball feet, rows of five applied disks on three sides, and three horizontal cradles.

Measures 2 1/4" high and 3 1/8" across. Marked with the conjoined 'WS', Taxco Mexico and 925. These were the marks used between 1933-40. In good condition, has some tarnish and very minor dings to the body and the feet. One of the disks on one row is slightly askew which adds to the hand made feel.

Classic Spratling design.

The Newport or Hairpin pattern was made by Hazel Atlas during the 1930's. The color is amethyst, though Hazel Atlas called it 'Burgundy' in the original ads. This dagger was made from the leg bone of a cassowary bird. It was carved and used as a weapon by one of the indigenous tribal groups of Papua New Guinea, aka PNG. Approx 8 inches long with great patina and makes a wonderful example of an ethnographic artifact.

A classic figural sterling silver thimble jigger by Thomae & Co. The rim is engraved “Only A Thimble Full.” The interior retains a softly gilt surface. Several companies made variations of thimble jiggers, but those by Thomae are among the best because of their superior weight and workmanship.
