This circular jade (nephrite) pendant (or plaque) is 2 ¾” in diameter and 3/16” thick. It is a late 19th century product. It is carved on both sides and depicts a young boy holding a court tablet “Hu.” The boy is riding on a dragon headed carp and is surrounded by lucky clouds. Vintage kazak rug, circa 1980. The rug is beautifully hand- knotted with reds and accented with blues and creams. The border has a geometrical floral band with red flowers, blue diamond shapes on cream ground. The center has a red ground with blue and cream colored designs. last quarter 20th century. This man's wedding shawl (known as "malir", or "doshalo") is from Tharparker district in Sindh province and would be a gift from a bride and her family to the groom for his wedding day attire. It is basically an embroidered "ajrak", meaning a red handspun, mordant-dyed, resist-printed cotton, embroidered in the four corners with stylized peacocks symbolizing fertility, and randomly placed mirrors ("shisha") as accents...

This is an accurate model of an outrigger canoe from the Ellice Islands, now the island nation of Tuvalva. The v-shaped hull is made of an upper and lower sections,sewn together with string of plant fiber and forming a notched prow which provides stability in ocean waves. There is fishing platform, complete with net, fishing fly and weight, a bailer, 2 paddles and 2 masts. Only the sails are missing.

Overall length of model canoe is 25"...

Two females from the Egba sub group of the Yoruba’s. H. 23 cm. First half of the 20th century. Ex French private collection. Condition: old insect damage and some old repairs to the ears of one of the figures.

This is a graceful 10.5" pear shaped vase bearing the seal of Ando Jubei. Enameled an unusual lush shade of plum/brown with a cream accent, it is decorated with silver wire flowers that appear gold against the dark ground. The bottom rim is marked "silver", the counter-enamel is dusty plum.

Condition: No chips, hairlines or repairs. There is minor scuffing to the base rim.

Vintage chinese wood chair from the 1960s, the wood is carved to imitate bamboo. The back is carved with a design of bamboo leaves. It measures 38" tall, the seat measures 18" deep by 23" wide. 1 of a set of 4, available as a set or individually.

Very large doll made by a known carver. H. 40,5 cm. Second quarter of the 20th century. Condition: both arms reattached. Lovely honey brown patina. The style of this Akuaba with its unusual coiffure is described in the book ‘Akua’ba Asante Wednesday Child’ by Ron van Doorn and Herbert M. Cole. Provenance: Robert van der Heijden, Amsterdam. An African helmet mask decorated with glass beadwork from Bamum/Yoruba tribe, Cameroon. With a bird effigy. Circa 1940.

Tugubele figures represent helpful bush spirits. The belong to the local ritual expert of the Senufo people, assisting them with their oracles and predictions. This figure dates from the first half of the 20th century and shows good signs of use. Provenance: André Vanhecke, Belgium, Srdjan Sremac, The Hague.

Feminine figure of the "ekwotame" type, of typical face, with a squarish neck, sitting on a circular stool, her hands on her knees. Scarifications alongside the abdomen. Wood, with black and white pigments. Africa, Nigeria, Benue river region, Idoma ethnic group. Height: 63 cm. Some erosion, small losses, otherwise very good condition. A large sterling silver bowl from Atelier Borgila, Erik Fleming in Stockholm, Sweden. This was a 1941 Presentation Gift from General Motors Imports, inscription on bottom as shown. Measures about 5 1/2" tall, 7 1/2" across and weighs about 737 grams. Has decorative engraving on one side and a gold wash in the interior. Very good condition, does show a little wear and light scratches. In its original presentation box. Fine example of Scandinavian design from this workshop.

Pair of nautilus-shaped silver and ebony handmade ashtrays by William Spratling, Mexico, c.1940. More a work of art than anything, this lush silver design sits on a silver base which then sits on a rectangular ebony base. They each have a curved oval at the top of the silver opening to hold the cigarette. In excellent condition, they each measure 2" high by 2 or 2 1/4" wide(hand made and not exactly the same)...

Very rare tomesode with blue birds. A light to medium weight crepe silk decorated with yuzen dyeing techique and small touches of silk embroidery. On the front panels each bird’s head and throat is embroidered using satin stitch method. Some of the leaves are accented with fine gold threads at their edges and a small grouping of flowers are decorated with very small French knots. The back is plain, except for three white mon (family crests). The painted design is repeated in the lining...

Early 20th century Chinese cloisonne recumbent deer censer with gold gilt on a custom wood stand. The lid on the back features a bird finial and is lined with turquoise enamel. The exterior cloisonne ground is turquoise over copper with red, green, blue, black, white, and yellow enamels creating a rich an vibrant design. Note the opening at the tail for burning a joss stick...

Japanese 20th century bronze vase by MIYATA RANDO. The vase is of oval form and has 4-leaved design done in relief on front and back. Comes with TOMOBAKO, or original artist signed wooden stoarge box. Stamp of artist, RANDO on base. 9 1/2" tall by 3 1/2" wide at its widest.

Superbly decorated very old bear skull, with typically Dayak incised designs all over its upper part. Beautiful partly encrusted patina. Indonesia, Borneo Island, Dayak Peoples. Length: 9" (22,7 cm), height: 3 1/4" (8,2 cm). Lower jaw and and a few teeth missing --- though these factors do not impair the rarity and beauty of the piece --- otherwise very good condition. A very rare ethnographic artifact. IMPORTANT: export to the European Community countries only.

An Indonesian mask carved in the form of a male figure. The mask is carved and painted with expressive eye brows and mustache. These masks are often used in Bali and Java during religious ceremonies performing the legend of the Hindu gods.
