One of those mid-century Murano glass shell designs inspired by the surrounding Adriatic Sea. The shell bowl is scalloped with a scroll twist that nicely modernizes the form. Chinese Famille Rose fine hand painted with overglaze enamel low relief Porcelain Pear shape Vase, 5" high, 3 7/8" wide-widest part, raised low relief design of butterflies, sprays of floral with geometric decoration on white porcelain body. A Korean whitish brass incense burner with cover that was used during family Confucian ceremonies. The lid is cut with the eight diagrams which will give the owner protection from misfortune and assure prosperity and happiness. The burner measure about 7 1/2" high x 4 3/4" in diameter, and dates to the early 20th Century Condition: The Condition is excellent. Classical urn vase by Herend. The porcelain factory in Herend, Hungary, was founded in the 1820's and is still working. The urn is the raspberry red version of their Chinese Bouquet pattern, the mark indicates a date before 1980. No lid. Height "8¾/ 22,5 cm. Condition: fine.

Set of 6 large 800 silver teaspoons from Roumania, c.1937. Sleek clean modernist design, they each measure 5 9/16" long and there is a slight gold wash inside the bowl. Each squared off bowl measures 1 3/4" long by 1 3/16" wide. They are each signed "R(in circle for Roumania)CROWN A(in soft triangle for .800 silver, 1937)" on the back with two other hallmarks in the bowl, that are hard to decipher. Very good condition but could use polishing...

1920s Japanese ceramic tokkuri - sake bottle - with conical body and narrow mouth. The piece was made at Shigaraki kilns - one of the six ancient kilns of Japan - and displays typical coarse body with large sand particles, freely applied gray glaze with some areas that fired brick red. Excellent piece in Japanese taste, beautiful spiral line on the bottom. Some compressed dust, overall in excellent condition. Height 5 3/8 inches.

Vase from the "Finlandia" series by Timo Sarpaneva for Iittala, Finland, 1965-69. Of tree trunk shape, the glass a very light green, watery shade.The irregular surface was created by the charred wooden moulds used for the Finlandia collection. The vase still retains its Iittala label and the polished base is signed Timo Sarpaneva 7362. Height "6/15 cm, diameter "4/ 10,2 cm. Beautifully carved butter churner guide ("Ghurra' or "neti"), decorated with a relief rope and chevron design. Wood, with fine dark-brown patina. Himalayan Region. Length: 11 1/4" (23,5 cm). The piece is nicely mounted on a custom wood stand. Obvious signs of use and age, otherwise very good condition. NOTE: the "ghurra" was collected in situ in the early 1970s, during my 20 years stay in Asia.

This cushion cover from Hazara district features stylized floral patterns and curvilinear geometric motifs outlined with a top stitch of black thread on mustard-colored cotton. Touches of turquoise and shocking pink combine with rust-colored silk floss thread to create an overall design suggestive of central Asian influence. It measures 41 x 41 cm and is in excellent condition. Late 20th century.
