Superb and extremely rare silverplated cocktail shaker in the "Ile de France" pattern by Meriden Britannia Plate Co. This is one of the most desirable of the high style Art Deco shakers. The ocean liner "Ile de France" was launched in 1926--not as the largest ship afloat, but intentionally as the most elegant ship in the world. This shaker was intended to celebrate that achievement and took its streamlined design elements from the ship itself...

Offered is this beautiful, hand-painted covered glass bowl, made probably by Mont Joye. It is 7 inches (17,5 cm) tall and 4 1/4 inches (10,5 cm) wide. It is in very good condition (there is a tiny flea-bite on the inner rim).

Chinese Natural Turquoise stone Tassel/Pendant, 7" long total length, 3/4" wide and 5/8" high for center oval shape carved Turquoise with Chinese Character inscribed on both side attached with round Turquoise beads on the top and the bottom, wrapped around with Chinese style Macrame cord. The Turquoise stone is old and in good condition with natural infusions.

Early Showa period Japanese black silk woman's formal kimono with long sleeves decorated on the bottom of the front, back, and interior with a continuous ukiyo-e scene featuring commoners engaged in various activities in a village. Five family mon (crests) are at the shoulder area. The lining is red. Circa 1930s. Measures 48 1/2" sleeve tip to sleeve tip and about 49 1/2" long. Very good overall condition. Rare zoomorphic medicinal vase or water pot, in ceramic with Song Dynasty type Celadon glaze, in the shape of a puffer fish. Vase from the Khmer or Song period, circa 10th/12th century. Depicted as a round bloated fish with ting front fins and large faired tail and a tiny mouth hole similar to a water dropper Angkor region, Cambodia heavy burial staining. , no restoration. Japanese bronze okimono sculpture of a Hawk on rockery base. the Hawk stands on a a fantastic bronze rockery base with branches and waves. Signed with character marks on the side of the rockery. Measures 16 1/2" x 19 1/2" x 8". condition was cold painted at a later date though 99% of the paint has been removed.The left foot left toe is missing though a rough toe was created but we removed it during the cleaning it will come with the sculpture.

Beautiful Daum Nancy 4 5/8 inch tall cameo cabinet vase decorated with red lilies and green leaves on a pale amber ground which in turn incorporates an amethyst spatter pattern near the base. The vase is 1 7/8 inches in diameter at the rim and 2 ½ inches at the shoulder. The vase is signed with the Daum logo and “France” in cameo. A differently shaped vase having the same decoration and coloration is shown as item E in figure 127 on page 86 of Blount’s “French Cameo Glass.”

Two sets of English Art Deco sterling silver cocktail picks, the finials in the form of brightly enameled roosters. Each pick has unusual double tines that firmly hold olives, cherries, etc., and a hook on the back side that can rest on the edge of tall glass to keep them from sinking to the bottom. Each is hallmarked the silversmith Adolph Scott ("Amnora") and with the datemark for Birmingham, 1929...

Galle bud vase in amethyst over yellow base glass with a very unusual floral design. The leaves below the stems of the flowers are engraved with fine lines to indicate veining in the leaves. The Galle signature on the vase is engraved such as in signature 58 on page 143 of Blount’s “French Cameo Glass.” The vase is undamaged and measures 8 5/8 inches tall and 2 inches in diameter.

A large and beautiful pink glass bowl decorated with frosted lines and circles - the bowl was made by Schneider company of France around 1930. The large blown glass bowl (has a polished pontil) is 14 inches (35,5 cm) in diameter and is in excellent condition (there are some expected faint scratches on its bottom - see picture). It is signed, 'Schneider' on its foot. A similar bowl is listed on page 374 of 'Warman's Glass', 4th edition, 2002 (shown in last picture here for your convenience).

Zoroku Masashimizu was born in Kyoto with the childhood name Jutaro.
After his father passed away, he devoted himself to pottery under the guidance of his mother, Chika. In 1882 he succeeded to the name Masashimizu Zoroku. A lovely English cut crystal powder or dresser box. The cut glass jar features 3 large flowers with alternating leaves. A deep cut star is on the base bottom. The sterling silver lid is beautifully decorated with a chased Art Nouveau design around the outer edge. The center of the lid is plain and can be engraved.
