Bowl or dish in Sommerso technique, clear glass and grass green, designed by Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta glass works, Sweden. VL was appointed chief designer at Kosta in 1950, and the bowl was produced in the mid 50’s. Incised mark Kosta LH 1308/75 (model number), where L is for Lindstrand and H means artisanal, made by hand. Height "2 / 5 and width "3 ¾ / 9.5 cm. Condition: fine.

This fine pair of Italian lamps came with a store tag attached to one of the switches that said, "Quackenbush Co. Patterson NJ. This was a local department store that existed from the 1800's to the early 1950's, a fact which provides us a date. The lamps appear to have never been used, in excellent condition and are a nicely matched pair On close inspection one can see that the lamps are hand made , yet nearly identical, pointing to the expertise of the Murano Glass Artisans.

The "Fifties" can live again in your house if you like Silver Turquoise. This pattern was introduced by Fenton in 1956. This is mold #7224.It is in excellent condition. There are no chips, no cracks and no repairs to this item.

Large storage jug of typical Shigaraki stoneware with small white inclusions, made in three sections, decorated in multicolor enamel and gold with a cat making a mouse train come to an abrupt halt. A cat, high back, hissing at the mouse going at the head of a train, makes the train come to a dead stop and the following mice tumble, roll, spill in a ripple effect. Very fine Herend large triangle dish in the Queen Victoria pattern, green border, circa 1940. Still being produced, the earlier Herend pieces were hand painted with finer detail and a thicker hard paste porcelain body. This dish is trimmed in 24K gold. Size: 9 1/2" L. Condition is like new. Cambridge Keyhole Candlesticks, Diane etching, Single Pair are 5.5" tall and in mint condition. Made from 1931-56.

A set of four Birks sterling silver nut or mint dishes 1940s-50s. These 4 x 2-3/8" dishes weigh 81.4 grams, and they are in excellent original condition with no corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a tiny dent in the upper lip of one dish, some very slight bends to the upper edge at one end on two dishes and some very shallow penpoint dents in the bottom of one dish (all are very minor and barely noticeable)...

Horizon is a Fostoria pattern that was produced from 1951 to 1958. It is a perfect blend of 'fifties modern' and simple elegance. Offered here is the 6 inch cereal bowl in the Cinnamon color. The gourd container with a hardwood stopper with a head. H. 17 cm. Mid 20th century.

This collection of 3 hand carved wooden hair combs is from the Nigerian Yoruba tribe. They were brought to the US by a (then young) anthropologist who traveled extensively in Africa during the early 1960's and have been retained in his personal collection until recently.

The taller center comb is 8 inches and the shorter combs on the sides are 4.25 inches. I prefer to sell them as a collection.

Sculpted modern sommerso bowl in crystal glass profusely infused with silver foil. The form casts a rich golden hue similar to the colors one finds around Venice at certain times of day. The form is in excellent condition, measures 5"x5"x2"h, unmarked.

Offered is this beautiful, large and heavy Murano glass bowl with 'ovals', made most likely, by Barovier & Toso. The bowl is approximately 14 inches (35 cm) wide and 6 1/2 inches (16,5 cm) tall. It is in very good condition, without chips, cracks or repairs. Polished pontil. Unsigned, as expected - these 'oval' decor was typical of Ercole Barovier (please refer to page 34 of Leslie Pina's book, 'Italian Glass century 20', for an Ercole Barovier designed vase with blue ovals).

Attractive sommerso stylized water bird is documented in Leslie Pinas' book ARCHIMEDE SEGUSO, page 126-7, valued there at $1000-1200. This is a fine sculptural interpretation of the natural environment of the Venetian Lagoon, which has provided inspiration to centuries of Murano glassblowers. Measuring 15.5", this Archimede Seguso masterpiece is in excellent condition, unmarked.
