An interesting modern, abstract koro. The compressed sphere with elliptical, off centered opening. A warm, brown temmoku glaze with darker brown glaze dripping from the top and stopping in controlled fashion above a well - continuing to form the unglazed foot in ogee fashion. An artist seal (three or four stylized Kanji characters within an oval) is impressed into the concave base near the foot rim. Very good condition. Some burnt on kiln residue on the foot goes to 'wabi'...

A happily little soul evidently getting much pleasure from the clashing together two metal pot lids. She kneels with her feel tucked under, and her "cymbals" are held on high for maximum effect. Her cheeks are dimpled, her eyes are blue, and she wears a close-fitting brown bonnet, held in place under her chin by a huge pink-brown bow; her curled light brown hair can be seen at her forehead and cheeks...

This boy's coat resembles the famous green chapan worn by Hamid Karzai, the current President of Afghanistan. These coats are worn in Central Asia including Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, etc. This chapan is woven in silk with a blue cotton shibori inside lining in plain weave, with the inside lapel in brown cotton corduroy. A large, beautiful, Tiffany style lamp. The lamp is 34 inches (87 cm) tall (to the top of the finial). The shade itself is 19 1/2 inches (50 cm) wide and 8 1/2 inches high (10 inches tall to the metal-top). The contemporary lamp takes three bulbs on the upper sockets and one bulb in the lower, inside-body socket. The lamp is in good condition.

Measuring 14 x 17 cm, this tobacco pouch from Indus Kohistan is embroidered in extremely fine brick stitch, cross stitch and satin stitch in silk thread. The beaded tassled edges are typical of the embroidery of this remote region of Pakistan. Condition is excellent, estimated age mid to late 20th century.

Really nice vintage brass 3-arm hunting horn chandelier. The 3 horn arms are connected in center to a large hunt horn that also has light in bottom. Heavy patina to brass. Also trimmed out with silver/chrome bands, knobs and mouthpieces. Made by Chapman in the 1980's. Original wiring but lights nicely. Pictures don't do this chandelier justice. Measures approx. 25" in diameter (widest part of globes) and 24" tall. Heavy solid piece. Hurricane/globes can be removed.

This purse was purchased from a very fine estate sale, and the quality of this Judith Jack purse reflects the sale from which it came. The marquisite (pyrite) is "grade A" mined in South America. The stones are hand set in sterling silver. The design and craftsmanship are superb. The lining repeatedly presents Judith Jack's name. The metal cartouche says "Judith Jack, made in Italy." Purse is 5 1/2" by 4 5/8". 1 1/2" front to back. Beaded chain is 11 1/2" end to end.

Wall vase of irregular cylindrical shape. Middle brown stoneware with irregular natural ash glaze dripping decoration. Metal eye at the back for hanging. Marked with 3 dots at bottom, which is the mark of the Karatsu potter Nakazato Toraemon XII Muan. Japan, around 1960s/1970s.

Japanese framed woodblock print by artist Hasui Kawase (1883-1957), depicting a lake with boats and rainfall. In the foreground is a romantic scene in which a man sits with his face in his hands, a red bouquet of flowers beside him, watching a woman holding a blue parasol who stands gazing back. Japanese pottery tsubo vase. An earthy, drab gray-green glaze on porcelaneous body with thin iron wash and with bold, rich red iron oxide glaze painted floral decoration on opposing sides of the tsubo form with thickly potted shoulder rising to a broad, everted rim. Two character impressed artist's mark inside the foot appears to read Kazan ('Ka' being the 10 stroke character also read as "hana".) A pleasant, substantial feel when held. Excellent condition.
