A child's cap from Indus Kohistan which is part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as NWFP). Some of the finest embroidery of this region comes from the area between Patan and Komila, where small settlements beside tributaries of the Indus produce embroidered costume and small bags worked in minute cross stitch and tent stitch. This pair of vases was recovered from an estate in the Castroville/Watsonville area of California, over 20 years ago. This area is known as the Artichoke Capital of the world. When I recovered these vases they had been lamps and have since had the bottom drills hole restored. These vases are old but probably not Meiji era. They do have silver rims with scalloped wire trim at the edges of the enamel. The colors and shading are wonderful. These are the only examples of cloisonne enamel with bloom...

Tiffin Twilight free form Bowl measures 8x9 inches and is 4 inches high. It does have a couple of "straw marks", which is normal. Otherwise it is in excellent condition. Remember, this glass changes color depending on the light source: it is blue under flourescent lighting and lavendar under incandescent lighting and in sunlight.
