Japanese limited edition cement mortar block print pencil-titled in kanji "Poem 68-2" (indicating production in 1968) by Maki Haku (1924-2000). Pencil-signed and numbered 26/50 in the lower margin. A masterpiece by one of Japan's preeminent artists, Seiko Sawada b.1894-1988. This signed piece was executed out of keyaki wood in his younger days in the 1930's depicts Ebisu, one of the seven lucky gods, riding a fish and a wave spouting out of the fish's mouth. Daikoku, the god of abundance, is riding his treasure bag holding his hammer of magic. The Sawada Museum is in Atami, Shizuoka. Sawada was awarded the Order of Merit in the 1970's.

This porcelain and silver tea cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Freidrich Deusch silver company circa 1950. The set retains its original paper labels which cover the porcelain blank mark. This beautiful vase was produced by the Consolidated Glass Company as part of the Martele line. Designed by Reuben Haley, the pattern is called Katydid and was produced in the late 1920's. A pair of globular small electric bedside lamps decorated with roses hand painted by Joseph Nekola Junior and sold by Plitchta, London. Joseph, the son of Karel Nekola an original decorator at Weymss, was taught by his father to paint the well know roses. WOODEN WINDOW FRAMES OF YANGBAN'S HOUSE

Early 20th century, Korea. approx. 51 x 33 x 3.5cm each (20.07 x 12.99 x 1.37in). Such refined craftsmanship of characteristic unilateral rounded lattice facing outward tells this pieces were actually installed in the residence of Yangban (ref. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yangban) at that time. Also its unique iron fittings and handle are tasteful. Deterioration due to aging, but still substantial make as is.

The outside is decorated with beautiful, intricate scenery depicting an oceanside temple amidst large rock formations and trees, while tiny sail boats and birds float off in the distance. Depicting delicate motifs in somber, predominantly blue-black combined with discrete touches of rusty red, this textile from the Savu Islands of eastern Indonesia is called a selindang. The shawls are worn by women over their shoulders, to complete their sarong attire. This textile is estimated to date to the late 20th century and is constructed by warp ikat, warp-faced, with fringes. It measures 71 x 191 cm and is in perfect condition. The dye is a natural indigo.
