Excellent condition

Description: There are no chips, no cracks, and no repairs. There are some annealing lines where the handle fits onto the pitcher. This is common on glass of this age. It has a pie crust crimped rim and a clear applied handle.

A beautiful Murano glass candlestick, made by Barovier & Toso, around 1950, in their gold-flecked 'Corodonato d'Oro' decor. The candlestick is 5 1/2 inches (14 cm) tall and 4 5/8 inches (11,7 cm) wide. It is without chips, cracks or repairs (there is some wax-drippings and black soot build-up, which are to be expected in a candlestick - please see pictures).

Old Chinese scholar’s rock in a shape of a natural boulder perfectly resembling a huge monolith with layered structure. Gives wonderful impression of immense energy of the mountain, presents great views from all sides. Beautiful stone with incredible wealth of textures and colors. Very strong scholar’s object, excellent patina on the surface of the stone, fitted rosewood stand. Height with stand 4 5/8 inches.

This lovely vase was made in the early 1950s by Dino Martens for Aureliano Toso. Marc Heiremans documents the model #5148 and date of 1952-53 in his book DINO MARTENS, p. 163 and 190. Aventurine, champagne and opalino half filigree embrace the body of the vessel and ribbon details were applied to the lip and neck. The vase measures 5 1/2"H, 4 1/2"D. and is in good vintage condition.

Unique practical substitute made of tin plate for the roof ornamentation found in traditional Japanese architecture so-called 'Onigawara' (lit. This porcelain miniature tureen was produced in Hungary by Herend between 1905 and 1938. It measures 5 1/4 inches across the handles and is 3 3/4 inches high. It is made of fine, hard paste porcelain. The piece is decorated with little hand painted insects and life-like fruits and vegetables. The finial on the lid is a half a lemon. Condition: Excellent

Teapot, milk jug, cup and saucer, a solitaire service made by the Carl Knoll factory in Czech Carlsbad / Karlovy Vary. Cross-striped like the Victorian bathing-suits – just a coincidence or might there be a thought behind this design? Carlsbad was a fashionable 19th century spa, famous for its hot springs. Impressed mark for 1848 – 1868. Height of teapot "4 ½ / 11 cm including handle, diameter of saucer "5 ½ / 14 cm. Condition: a nick to the cup (cf. pics).

Measuring 81.5 x 100 cm, this gorgeous textile made by Uzbek women is machine-embroidered in silk thread with crocheted silk fringe edging. The bouquet motifs are typical of Uzbek embroidery. Condition is very good, with only one small hole (1 cm x 1 cm) in the center panel. Estimated age: late 20th century.

Gorgeous vintage Hermes silk scarf (“carré”) worked in rich shades of medium blue, cream, golds, browns and greys. The design illustrates various 18th century gilded carriage or chariot wheels, including one emblazoned with an image of the Sun King, Louis XIV. Lovely Seto ware chaire (tea caddy) made by Japanese Seto ceramist Kato Bakutai (1861-1943).
The mark of the artist is stamped at the bottom.

Kato Bakutai was a prominent potter who initially worked under Kato Shuntai (1802-1877) being responsible for revival of Seto ware techniques in Japan in the 19th century. He is also known to work with a variety of traditional pottery styles including Shino, Tenmoku, Mishima etc.
