This Chinese ivory carving of a mountain scene is a mid 20th century product. It is 5 1/8” high (with carved wood base is 6 ¼” high), 2” wide and 1 ½” thick. It depicts a village scene on a mountain. It starts from a boat in a river. Going up the trail, people are riding a buffalo or horse, sitting in a sedan chair or just walking. There are houses, booths, a pagoda and pine trees along the trail. It is in very good condition.

A small leaf pattern of gold metallic thread dots the entire length of the deep green silk field. There is a 2 inch brocaded border on each side which also runs the length of the sari. An original and probably unique terracotta blacksmith by Royal Doulton figure modeller - Peggy Davies who, in her early years, was an assistant to Clarice Cliff. This item was probably made circa 1955 - 1960 and carries an incised signature on the base. Condition - the hammer is missing from the right hand as is a piece of the iron held in his left hand. Excellent squat Rookwood vase with raised decoration featuring large three-leaf clovers and flowers. The flowers, particularly, are molded in fairy high relief, so that the glaze is thinner over the tips of the petals, creating lovely shading. A French Vallauris dish by Cerenne, with black, silky glaze. Decoration in bright enamels of a gardener with his tools and flower pots.The back with impressed Vallauris mark and painted MC (painters signature) and Cerenne Vallauris. Cerenne (=CRN) was the signature used by one of the largest ceramic workshops in Vallauris, led by Charles René Roger Neveux. Diameter "8¾/ 22,5 cm. Condition: small rubbing to the glaze just outside the right flower.

A beautiful 8-glass cordial set in a velvet box, made by Moser. The cordial heights vary between 2 inches to 3 1/4 inches (5 cm to 8,25 cm). The box is 12 inches by 8 1/2 inches by 2 3/4 inches (30 cm X 22 cm X 7 cm). Four of the glasses are in gold cameo. All glasses are marked, 'Moser' and are in fine condition. The set was probably in a museum's collection and carries the museum's ascension number (see last picture).

A purple bowl of swirl shape in the style of Beranek – Skrdlovice – or Klinger – Zelezny Brod Sklo /ZBS. The Czech glassworks like many other industries were nationalised. This bowl originally must have been produced for the Skoda car factory since it bears the Skoda mark (in use from 1929). Length "5½/ 14 cm. Condition: wear to the base and a scratch mark near the base.

Persian Iranian Ceramic Tile, 1960's, 12 1/2" x 10 1/2" 3/4" thick, hand painted floral decoration under the thick crackling glaze, small frits around the edges, and tight firing in the Kiln hairline on the bottom, heavy weight.
Four(4) French Majolica Faience Pottery Asparagus Plates, Dishes, 9 1/4" diameter, 7/8" high, raised Asparagus design with separate section for Hollandaise Sauce area with basket weave design border. Marked on the bottom "Sarreguemines, France" in black, no damages.
Mask carved in a very hard wood, the design is minimal. However the lines formed by the nose and the continuity with those located above the eyes evoke the shape of a spider. Tall Chinese hardwood cabinet in two sections, elaborately carved all over with scenes of eight dragons in light color wood on dark hardwood ground carved with swirling clouds, rocks and waves. The sides of the cabinet are also made of dark hardwood and carved with scrolling key fret motif. Brass hardware is incised with matching key fret and chimera designs. c. 1950.

This beautiful contemporary Ningyo is by an important artist, Nishikitsuka Moeharu. His Kimikomi style of work has been exhibited in many galleries and museums, including the Homma Museum in Japan. She is holding peach sprays. Carved of wood with applied silks brocades. She has a sensitively rendered face with carved lacquered hair adorned with a gold hair ornament. 9 inches (23cm) high. Base: 10.5 x 8.25 inches, 27 x 21 cm.
Woodblock print by Japanese artist Saito circa 1950-1960, published by Uchida Art Co. This print is of two young girls wearing very bright and beautiful kimonos in various shades of green, blue, yellow, pink, and red. One girl holds a fan while the other holds a small toy of a bird. A paper lantern hangs behind the head of the smaller girl. Both girls have precious, doll-like features.

Hakata doll was originated by a roof tile maker in the early 17C during the construction of Fukuoka castle. Hakata is located on the Kyushu island (southern island), famous to other porcelain makers such as Satsuma, Imari, Nabeshima and Hirado. This handsom groom is 7 1/2" tall and almost in mint condition. She is 8" tall in excellent condition with some minor stains on her right arm area as shown in one of the picture.
