These two wine stems are a collaboration between two companies: Cambridge Glass made the amethyst art deco flared wine bowl, while Farber Bros. made the cut-out chrome basket, the shapely stem and the broad bell foot. This bright Westmoreland carnival basket shows rich purple and cranberry-red pansies with a petal from each to form the foot. These elegant, charming Beaumont Glass keyhole candlesticks are in an opaque, clambroth color on the Fer-Lux blank. Each belled and flared foot shows enamel green dots - quite festive. The keyhole shows two scrolls holding the flared and scalloped candle holder (fits an average taper.) Each are trimmed in gold around the scalloped top, around the neck and around the broad foot. Each are in perfect condition, though there is minor gold loss on the foot of one candlestick...

This lovely black trophy vase is by L. E. Smith from the 1930s. It features a large heart shape cameo with two women dancing with scarves. The rim is ruffled and it stands in a square foot. It is crystal clear and in very good condition, perfect except that it has a wee chip on the rim of the lid that is not apparent when placed in the mouth of the pitcher. A charming baluster form vase decorated with a ring of drying fish by Katsuo Seiryudo (1907-1984) in the original signed wooden box. The hirame (flat fish) are unglazed except for an iron like underglaze used to draw the details, and shiny black dots for eyes. The contrast between the unglazed fish and white ceramic is unexpected and pleasing, in that ordinarily it would be opposite...

The EAPG pattern shows three large oval hobstars and decorative fans around the body of the jar. Here is a quintessential piece by Master Mashiko Potter and Living National Treasure Hamada Shoji (1894-1978) enclosed in the original signed and stamped wooden box. The subtlety of the wide faces is a pleasant contrast with the rich iron frame of the narrow sides and top. A cluster of leaves in a zen circle underscored or shaded by tapering rails under heavily crackled clear glaze, a snowy white belt running across the scene is what we see. Beautiful 4-string lute ("saranghi"), the top in the shape of a head holds the four keys, the body itself is made of two parts of heart shape. Wood, with nice dark-brown glossy patina. This Chinese Famille Rose brush holder is 5” high and 3 11/16” in diameter. It depicts an old sage and his young servant in a garden. The Chinese title of the picture is "Mr. Yuan-Ming admires chrysanthemum blossoms." The date on the side of the brush holder is winter, 1925. The artist’s name is Tu Zhu-Zhung. There is a red maker’s mark on the bottom which says New China Company, Nan-Chang City. It is in excellent condition.

A sterling silver double jigger in International's classic1939 Art Deco "Royal Danish" pattern. The jigger is marked with one of International's older hallmarks. The double jiggers in this pattern are difficult to find.

Japanese uchikake (wedding gown) with a colorful design of flowers and birds done in the Tsujigahana-zome (dye) style. The old Tsujigahana dye technique was used on the clothing of the Muromachi to Momoyama period elites. Inside the tie dyed area, flowers and birds were painted with blue, purple and black ink. A rare, complete set of sterling silver demitasse spoons in the "Flowers of the Months" pattern by Tiffany & Co. presented in their original fitted case. A vintage sterling silver vermouth dispenser by Gorham in the form of a syringe. These were called “Martini Spikes” when sold by Gorham in the 1960s. The functioning plunger allows vermouth to be drawn up into the syringe, then dispensed in precise doses into your favorite cocktail. Marked “Gorham Sterling 429 Pat. Pend.”.

Rare blond tortoiseshell case, circa 1930, is considered the most desirable of all tortoiseshell. This handmade case was originally made to hold cigarettes but is a perfect size for business cards. Having a rich amber color and inlaid with a gold diamond shape monogram SH, slightly domed and grained surface, arm swings out from base to create a stand. Measurements: 5"x 3 1/2"x 1/4". Very good vintage condition with minor surface scratches and small chip inside lip.

Japanese Hakata ningyo, unglazed clay doll of a young samurai (wakashu) with a dancing fan. This doll may have been modeled after a character in Kabuki (played by all males) or Takarazuka (played by all females). There were many play houses in Hakata during the late Meiji, Taisho and early Showa period. The Takarazuka theater (Fukuoka Takarazuka?) was also there. A very finely painted porcelain plaque - "Wu Song Da Hu" painted in the style of Liu Ji You - illustrating one of the stories from "The Water Margin" depicting the famous scene where the folk hero Wu Song kills the tiger which has been terrorizing the local population. A small Yixing zisha ('purple clay') teapot with enameled decoration depicting prunus blossom on one side and a dragonfly amongst lotus flowers on the other. The base carries the name Meng Chen. A fine sterling silver double jigger in an Art Deco pattern by Tiffany & Co. The only decoration are incised bands around the lip of each cone-shaped vessel. This severe geometric style is typical of the Art Deco wares produced by Tiffany. The jigger is fully hallmarked by Tiffany and is stamped with the date mark used 1907-1947.
