Box 653/HENDERSONVILLE, N.C.” Peter Murphey ran a small ad in The Transylvania Times, of Brevard N.C. June 3, 1965 advertising a continuous Craftsmans Fair at his address. A long time potter and owner of The Pine State Pottery started signing by hand his pottery in 1970...

These fantastic, rare Morgantown wine stems feature delicate, whisper-thin blown Pineapple optic crystal clear bowls. Attached are deep amber, almost a root beer color pulled stems with clear blown feet. Each is a bit of art from the 1920s-1930s. Each sparkly piece stands 5 1/8" tall and 3 1/2" across the cut and finished rim. I have other Morgantown and elegant glassware in my inventory ... take a peek.

A hand painted porcelain Japanese bowl in the style of earlier Nabeshima high footed shallow bowls. The blue is painted underglaze and the green and brown are painted over the glaze in enamels. Bodhidharma was a Buddhist who came to China in the 5th or 6th century and is credited with the founding of Chan Buddhism which in Japan became Zen Buddhism. The hooded man with an earring is in front of the stylized sea contained in a cloud border. Late 19th or early 20th century, perhaps Hirado...

The Crinkle pattern was produced by Morgantown glass company in the late 1930's and into the 1960's. This is the 80 oz 'Ockner' pitcher in green with an applied handle. This Mangus Aase "Rose" cream or bouillon ladle is 6.5" long The bowl is 2 7/8" long by 1 1/2" wide. It is hallmarked K.W.830s Mangus Aase symbol NM. The NM is the generic mark which roughly translates as design copyright. The mark was used from 1876-1953.

Notice the hook on the reverse and that this ladle has a gold wash bowl. It is also hallmarked 18-7-1931.

This is a wonderful hand painted cottageware /cottage ware biscuit jar, biscuit barrel or cookie jar made by Price Brothers, Kensington, Staffordshire England. This item is from the 1940s and is marked Ye Olde Cottage. The shape is a thatched cottage with it's original rattan handle. It is 7" tall without the handle x 5" deep x 6" wide. These is a flake on the inside rim.

This is a really pretty crystal clear Rose Point Cheese and Cracker 2 Piece Set made by Cambridge Glass. This cheese comport measures 6 inches, the handled cracker plate measures 11 1/2 inches without the handles. Both the cheese comport and cracker plate are in very good condition with no chips or cracks. There are just a couple slight scuff marks on the center of the plate. This McCoy fruit wall pocket is 7 3/4" x 6 3/4". This is circa early 1950s. There are no chips, no cracks, and no repairs to this item. It has the usual McCoy crazing and the obvious paint loss which I believe adds character and looks very real as if it were in a tree.

Here is a whimsical piece of folk art, possibly depicting an Australian Cassowary. A plastic coconut shell serves as the body, the feathered tail and headdress are accented by a furry brown material while the spindly neck and legs made from sticks. Unsigned.

A very nice set of 12 French-style linen cocktail napkins with a delightful woven rooster pattern. This is an especially colorful set made from very high quality fabric. Consolidated Glass Company made the Catalonian pattern in 1926. A terrific pair of Art Deco sterling silver tension-hinged sugar tongs or “nips” by W. & S. Sorensen. The twisted upper handles are decorated with gilt crown-shaped finials and the tong ends repeat the twisted pattern of the upper handles. The tongs could be used for sugar cubes, candies, or even olives. Hallmarked by Sorensen. The tongs are very well made and are quite heavy.

This porcelain chocolate cup and saucer was produced in England by Mintons before 1920. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/4 inches and the cup is 3 1/8 inches high without the handle. The set is made of fine, white bone china. The cup has an Empire style handle that rises above the rim of the cup. Here is an adorable bear sculpture by Knud Kuhn for Royal Copenhagen, Denmark. It measures 3 1/8" high. On the underside is painted three wavy lines, Denmark, and 2/433, stating this was number 2 out of a run 433 pieces. Incised is number 12.

Very vintage signed Lillian Pines sterling fan pin. A contemporary of Mary Gage, as they both died a year apart from each other in the early mid 90's. While this maker was born in New Hampshire, Mary Gage died in nearby Maine. This fan style is her familiar motif using applied silver balls and curly Qs. Stamped LILLIAN PINES STERLING in back of one of the 1 1/2" fans connected with a 5 1/2 and 6" flat "S" chain. Each has a working safety clasp pinback and weighs a total of 23 Grams...

21124690 A kangaroo cocktail glass from the Libbey Nash Silhouette series of 1933 with an opalescent stem. The Silhouette series wine glass is illustrated on page 15B of the Libbey-Nash Series 1933 catalog as shown in Fauster on page 330. These were listed in the catalog as available with either black or opalescent stems, although others can be found in clear or frosted colorless glass. The 6 inch tall cocktail glass is signed and perfect.

These four Minton Gold Ancestral dessert plates (#S 595) are quite handsome indeed. Each are marked on the back and also each has the Minton imprint. The brown-red transfer decoration of flowers and leaves is painted with turquoise and pink enamel to accent the flowers. Each plate is trimmed in gold and is in excellent condition. Measures 7 7/8" across the scalloped rim. Production dates: 1944-1976. Book price $45.00 a plate.
