Beautiful lobed Kutani yaki dish in Yoshidaya style, modern. Decoration of camellia in white, aubergine, green, speckled yellow and gilt. The back with a character in gilt, possibly Qiu, meaning Autumn. It is also defined by Graesse in his classical work about pottery and porcelain marks as from the village of Shinomine in Arita. Diameter "6 ¼ / 16 cm, height "1 ¼ / 3 cm. Condition: fine.

Dark blue Japanese Kutani moriage waving cat. Signed on the bottom, it is in excellent condition, no chips, no cracks, etc. and measures 10.5" high. Dates mid 20th century.

The impressed logo on the bottom, the Fenton logo sticker for the 1970s, a Handpainted Fenton sticker, and the signature of the artist, Jim Andraick. It features four cameos of a beautifully rendered Cardinal, and pine cone cluster. The body is stipple milk glass sitting in a pedestal decorated foot. A lovely signed "Hand Made in Greece Ikaros Pottery B420" with a small 4 at the bottom. In excellent condition though the rim has a slight imperfection original to the piece that is not noticeable except to the touch. The piece measures 8" (h) x 7" (w). The Ikaros factory was located in Rhodes,Greece and ceased production in 1988.

Large, signed vase from the 1980s by Raymond Gallucci (USA, PA, 1923-2005). 10 1/2" tall. 7" across. Works by this artist are in the collections of the Smithsonian, the Philadelphia Museum of art, and the Michener Museum.

These "Liberty Blue" cup and saucer sets are 2 5/8". They have a blue and white floral rim . The scene in the saucer is that of the Old North Church. The scene on the cup is that of the Paul Revere riding through town. They are in excellent condition.

A work of studio pottery, found in Southern California, the color a rich earthy brown, the vessel pierced intentionally by the artist to create naturalistic openings, similar to the distinctive style of Peter Voulkos (1924-2002). The piece measures 7 1/2" high by 5" diameter. The piece is signed on the bottom "Balvin 79". Surprisingly I do not see a studio potter by this name, but the artist was obviously talented and also familiar with Voulkos' acclaimed work.

A Herend Printemps hand painted oblong trinket or cigarette box with floral decoration and gold trim. This 6-3/4 x 3-1/2" box stands 1-1/2" tall and it is probably one of the many Printemps pieces which all have similar and slightly variant floral designs. It has the later Herend mark with a 7987 form number and a BT pattern code with a 1 or I below. It also has an impressed 7981 26 on the bottom...

This Precious Moments 40th anniversary figurine is in excellent condition.

Tiffin made Twilight for many, many years. It does change color -- icey blue in fluorescent lighting, pastel lavendar in sunlight or incandescent (the old light bulbs). This compote is made from Duncan & Miller's Canterbury mold. Made in the 1960-70's. It is in mint condition and stands 5.25" tall and about 7" at its widest. Pair of Neoclassical-style decanters, ca. 1980. Globular body in white campher glass. Scroll handle with foliate cap is silver plate as is mouth collar and hinged over, which are in form of ram’s head. Fun and fanciful. Very good condition.

I visited the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington DC a little more than a year ago and saw some really creative ceramics with leather incorporated into the composition among related, sculptural works.
