A vintage sterling silver Caddy spoon by William Spratling with a lightly hammered finish and shovel design. This spoon is from the first design period.

Measures 3 5/8" long and 1 1/2" across. Dates from before 1946. Marked with the script 'WS' surrounded by Spratling Made in Mexico, and Spratling Silver. Marks show some wear. Has minor wear to the surface appropriate to the age, some tarnish and surface scratches.

"Tiffany Windows" murrines vase by Fratelli Toso is documented in Leslie Pino's "Fratelli Toso, Italian Glass 1854-1980", P. 68. This vessel is amazing in good light and an excellent example of the Murano glassblowers' skills. The transparency of the murrines allows the light to flow through nicely and remind one of the "colors of Murano." The Tiffany Windows series dates to the 1960's. Number 9 in a series of 12 Fornasetti plates commissioned in the 1970’s by Martini & Rossi. Each plate depicts an item in their wine museum in Pessione, in this case the first barrel – Il Primo Tino - used for the fabrication of the famous Martini vermouth. Pessione is a village in northern Italy, not far from Torino. The back of the plate gives a contextual presentation of the plate and has the Fornasetti brush in hand mark. Diameter "9 ¼ / 23.7 cm. This Barbini from the 1960's will bring a smile when you look inside to see the large murine fish at the bottom. Six strategically placed bubbles surround the fish, whose body is dark green at the top, with subtle aventurine stripes on a gold leaf body. The amorphous bowl form is a champagne color, 6 1/2" diameter and 2 1/2" tall, and is in excellent condition with normal wear at the base consistent with its age.
