Antique porcelain vase of tapering baluster form. It features a gold gilded rim and is decorated in the Belleek style with fine, hand-painted colorful flowers against a yellow background. The vase is signed by artist Nellie, and there are some other markings as well. Unfortunately, the base of the vase does not have any marks. Initially, there might have been a manufacturing marking, but it has worn out over time. Therefore, we cannot identify which manufacturer made the vase...

Made in the 1950's, master glass artist Gundersen created this cased vase using cranberry and custard glass. Many people will mistake it as "burmese" glass -- it is definitely a cased glass. Measures 3" high by 4.5" wide. It does have a pontil on the bottom. In mint condition.

The handling and modelling of clays in various colors necessary for the creation of this kind of art objects was a complicated procedure, mastered only by Jean Gerbino and his family in Vallauris, the French studio pottery center of the period. A bowl or ashtray in black, still transparent glass. No marks, but Italian (Murano) and probably by Alfredo Barbini, 1950's. The interior iridescent in "oily" rainbow or mother-of-pearl shades so that, in combination with the lobed design, a sea-shell effect is created. The exterior also iridescent, in a metal-like shade.
