Large and heavy gauge sterling salt and pepper set by Los Castillo, Mexico, c.1948. Handmade, each are of slightly different proportion - each are approximately 3" high and 1 3/4" diameter at the base. Quite heavy, they each way, approximately 3 troy ounces. Each are marked "LOS CASTILLO STERLING MEXICO HANDWROUGHT 15". The interesting thing is that one is marked "123" and the other,"153", although they are a matching set...

A Black Forest carved wood sculptural study of a wild boar with a 'don't mess with me' aura. The boldly carved and detailed boar, stained, on carved wood plinth, unstained, portraying coarse terrain. Signed bottom of the plinth, "Evert E Klund". In different hand, "'Gunthers (with an umlaut over the 'u'), Germany' Nov. 1946". Ink stamped mark (three times) of an anchor flanked by two stylized 'E's...

Beaded Block was produced by Imperial Glass Company from 1927 to about 1930. Pieces in this pattern are difficult to find and eagerly scooped up by collectors when they do surface. Melusina or Melusine is a heroine in medieval European folklore. This figurine is a modernist version of her transformation into an often two-tailed mermaid or fish. Unglazed stoneware and gilt hairstyle. Little is known about Y-Keramik other than the workshop was situated in former Western Germany and that the gilding was made of 24 karat gold, this information available on paper labels on other Y-Keramik figures from the 1970's. Impressed potter’s mark “ilba” to the back...

This charming pair of vintage glass hound dogs, made by Archimede Seguso in the "nero a macchie di smalto bianco" (black with white spots) style in the 1950s. Documented in "Archimede Seguso, Lace & Stone" by Leslie Pina, P. 162, 213. Both are in excellent condition, with the dark-headed one having a few minor scuffs consistent with its age. They each stand 4" tall, 2 1/2" wide. Would sell individually for $225 each.

Midcentury Modern sterling silver water pitcher. Made by International Silver Co. in Connecticut. Baluster with asymmetrical oval mouth; stepped and round foot ring with flat beading. High-looping handle wrapped with abstract leaves; scroll terminal inset with Jensen-inspired seed-spilling pod on wire stem. The influence of the master applied to a traditional form. Marked “International / Sterling / La Paglia Designed / 208”. Very good condition.

Russian? Persian? Very vintage 900 silver figural detailed feather bird pin brooch with an out spread wingspan. Very interesting maker's mark of a bird - possibly Austro Hungarian. Marked in back 900.
The brooch's shape is almost like that of the Czar of Russia or Romanov symbol, except that this is one headed. Complete with a spray of feathers between the claws and showing strong stance.

Set of 6 Midcentury Modern sterling silver seafood scallop shell plates. Made by Gorham in Providence. Each: Straight and tiered flutes, scalloped rim, and 2 ball supports. This classic sterling silver Christmas ornament is from 1971, made by Reed and Barton. The ornament is 3 3/8” high and 3 1/8” wide.

Consolidated Glass Company produced the Catalonian line in 1927. It was made to look like glass found in Catalonia Spain at the archaeological sites, and had bubbles and raised rings blown into the glass. This is the 1116B fan vase in amethyst. (This color is a green ceramic wash applied over crystal glass.) The vase is approximately 7 1/2 inches high and in perfect condition. I have other items in this pattern available, see my other listings or just ask.

Beautiful Gorham arts & crafts period (c. 1905) sterling and enamel spoon, measuring 5" long. It has blue, purple, red, and yellow enamel in a lovely arts & crafts design with a gold washed finish. The condition is very good with a slight enamel outage at the very top of the spoon (see photo). The spoon is marked "GORHAM hallmarks STERLING #870 and an "S" monogram at the back. These two rare Morgantown Princess optic amber wine stems are little pieces of fine art glass. Each whisper-thin crystal clear Princess optic bowl is mold blown and hand finished. The amber, almost root beer color stems, are pulled from the base of the bowl and given a twist before being attached to the broad flat foot. The optic blown crystal is so shiny and thin - like a wisp - that I had a hard time capturing the optic details... each has a nice ring...

A pewter pipe rest, the unusual design reminding of a high-heeled ladies shoe. Denmark or Sweden, unmarked, 1930's. Width "4½/ 11,5 cm. Condition: fine.

Line 700 was produced by Consolidated Glass Company in 1929. Offered here is the #712 10 oz goblet in light blue.
