Interesting early Deco gilt metal pendant of Chinese shape. The front with an enameled motif of a lady with Chinese hairstyle busy with needlework in front of a smoking scenser, all within a keyfret border. The back with a cracked ice border surrounding a willow tree and ducks in a pond. Probably French, around 1920. Width "1 ½ / 3.7 cm. Condition: fine, except for a darker spot to the back, visible from a certain angle (cf. last photo).

It is notable that both front and back surfaces of this fine aquarium are ground flat and polished, providing a crisp view of the finely crafted fish. The polishing is a considerable amount of work not usually seen in most Murano glass aquariums. I'm not sure who made this, but the surface polishing, fine detail of the polychrome fish, and the inclusion of glass thread and real sand between the layers of glass clearly render this a unique creation...

Magnificent 5 inch tall sterling silver salt & pepper shakers or casters designed and signed by American and Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-67). The pair weigh 242 grams or 8 1/2oz. Each is accented with applied silver bands along with a ball and bead atop the dome shape. Each hallmarked on the underside. This design is one of Spratling's last coming from the mid 1960's. This porcelain figurine was produced in Germany by Fraureuth in 1935. The piece is artist signed but we are unable to identify the signature. It is 7 inches long and 5 3/4 inches high. The dachshund is well modeled with nice breed detail. He is hand painted in natural colors. Condition: Excellent. On the underside of the figurine something was ground off, as shown in the last photo.
