The handling and modelling of clays in various colors necessary for the creation of this kind of art objects was a complicated procedure, mastered only by Jean Gerbino and his family in Vallauris, the French studio pottery center of the period. Superb in every way; form, glaze, condition. This is a monumental and important vase by Berndt Friberg for Gustavsberg. It measures 15 1/2" (39.5cm). On the underside is incised Friberg, the Gustavsberg hand insignia, and the date code C. This masterpiece was created in 1961.
This porcelain miniature tureen was produced in Hungary by Herend in 1976. It is a commemorative piece celebrating 150 years of production by Herend. It measures 5 1/4 inches across the handles and is 3 3/4 inches high. It is made of fine, hard paste porcelain. The piece is decorated with garlands of stylized corn flowers and foliage. There are blue ribbons and the finial on the lid is a lemon.

Decoration in bright enamels of a gardener with his tools and flower pots.The back with impressed Vallauris mark and painted MC (painters signature) and Cerenne Vallauris. Cerenne (=CRN) was the signature used by one of the largest ceramic workshops in Vallauris, led by Charles René Roger Neveux. Diameter "8¾/ 22,5 cm. Condition: small rubbing to the glaze just outside the right flower.

This is a large vase, and rather heavy, 21 1/2" long, 11" across, signed with a "P" in the chalky base. I've examined it closely and find no chips on rim or anywhere else. The piece is entirely hand thrown and decorated/painted, and quite Arts and Craftsy in feeling. I am a paintings specialist so this is somewhat out of my league. I did send images to Rago Auction in New Jersey and they were unable to identify the maker. It was found here in Southern California...

This fine china is the American Franciscan Ivy pattern. The dinner plate is 10 3/8" in diameter, embossed, and hand-painted under glaze. It was made by the Gladding, McBean & Company circa 1948

American Rockingham, the ware for which Bennington, Vermont became famous in the mid 19th century, is English in origin and name for the Marquis of Rockingham, whose works at Swinton produced a ware similar brownish color. An English hand painted Gaudy Welsh tea set by Allerton's, consisting of the 6" high teapot (including finial), the 5" tall large covered sugar bowl, the 4-3/4" tall milk or cream jug, four 2-1/2" tall cups and four 5-7/8" fitted saucers. Including the lids there are 13 pieces and each is handpainted with cobalt, orange, green and copper lustre. the shape and decoration are undoubtedly those of Allertons however the saucers are marked with what appear to be impressed date stamps (from 1928-29)...

They are signed by the renowned modeler, Knud Kyhn. This rowdy pair of cubs are full of action playing. This artist was able to capture the moment in lively motion. They are hand painted in the typical Royal Copenhagen pallet of colors.

These four Minton Gold Ancestral dessert plates (#S 595) are quite handsome indeed. Each are marked on the back and also each has the Minton imprint. The brown-red transfer decoration of flowers and leaves is painted with turquoise and pink enamel to accent the flowers. Each plate is trimmed in gold and is in excellent condition.
