Original hand thrown and hand enameled vase by Gilbert Portanier (France, born 1926). This vase measures roughly 7", with a diameter at the base of 5". It is signed with Portanier's distinctive monogram near the base. In excellent condition except for a glaze chip near the mouth of the vase. Portanier is one of the most important ceramic artists in the second half of the twentieth century in France.

English Tuscan Porcelain double Gold fish Demitasse Cup and Saucer, drum shape expresso cup-2 3/4" wide include handle, 2 1/4" high, saucer-4" diameter, 3/4" high, Gold double fish with black decoration on white, the condition is good.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Hungary by the Herend Factory between 1950 and 1970. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches and the cup is 2 1/4 inches high. The set has a molded swirl and basket weave pattern in the porcelain. It is hand painted with brightly colored flowers and fruits. There are tiny insects dotting the inside of the cup and on the outside of the saucer. They don’t eat too much. Condition: Excellent

Beautiful Japanese studio vase, in the form of a Han Dynasty cocoon vase, in the Mingei style, mid 20th century. Very reminiscent of the work of Kawai Kanjiro. This vase is not signed, and it is missing its original box which would have made an attribution possible. 26cm by 19cm (roughly 9 3/4" by 7 1/2"). In beautiful condition.

This set of 6 fruit knives, stainless steel blades and porcelain handles, was produced in England by Royal Crown Derby before 1970. They are 8 1/2 inches long. They are in a silk lined fitted box. The handles are fine bone china. They are decorated with a floral transfer decoration which is painted over by hand. The stainless steel blades have a serrated edge. Condition: Excellent. They have never been used.

This porcelain charger was produced in Germany by Meissen before 1970. It has a diameter of 10 inches and is 1 3/4 inches deep. The porcelain is the highest quality, with a shiny, even glaze. It is decorated with Chinese style ornaments. There are fighting roosters in the center, dragons and Chinese ornaments, all hand painted and gilded. There is heavy gold trim on the rim. Condition: Excellent. This is a first quality charger.

This bone china cup and saucer is in an unnamed pattern (listed as COACOA168 on Replacements) and it has gold trim. In the south of France, tradition dictates that anise-flavored aperitifs should be served with water to dilute the drink. Makers such as Ricard and Pernod provided advertising pitchers to local bars and cafes to increase their sales. This squared-off rectangular form is less common than the traditional globe-shaped pitcher and became popular after World War II...

DESCRIPTION: A lovely set of five red clay Mexican earthenware nesting bowls, dating from the 1950's. The bowls are decorated in fluid strokes of blue between blue line borders on a white/cream ground. The interiors have a line of blue around the inner circumference with dollops of green glaze. Very good condition, no chips, original imperfections that add to the charm. DIMENSIONS: Largest bowl: 10.25 diameter x 4.75” high. Smallest bowl: 5.5” diameter x 2” high.

These 6 porcelain plates were produced in England by Royal Worcester in 1958. The markings on the back indicate this year of manufacture. The plates have a diameter of 10 3/4 inches. They are made of fine bone china. Each plate is hand painted with a different spray of flowers and are signed by the artist Freeman. The flowers are vibrantly, and realistically rendered. The handling and modelling of clays in various colors necessary for the creation of this kind of art objects was a complicated procedure, mastered only by Jean Gerbino and his family in Vallauris, the French studio pottery center of the period. Impressed marks Gerbino and Vallauris. Height of tazza "3 ½ / 9 cm and of the vase "5 ½ / 14 cm, diameter of tazza "6/ 15 cm. Condition: fine.
