This porcelain figural group was produced in Germany by Hutschenreuther in the 1940s. It measures 9 inches long and 5 1/4 inches high. It has an inscribed artist's name, K. Tutter, in the base. The subject matter of this group is quite comical. A naked cherub is fleeing from the attack of an angry goose. The little fellow is just "barely" getting away. The porcelain is modeled with great delicacy. The hand painting ads charm and detail. Condition: Excellent.

Lovely pair of porcelain compotes in the "Dresden Garland" pattern by Schumann. The pierced rims are heavily decorated with colorful flowers and gilding. Each compote is centered with a floral bouquet surrounded by entwined gilt and floral garlands. The decorative motifs are echoed on the pedestals. The bottoms are marked by Schumann.

This Palissy Ware center or serving piece has 3 clam styled bowls for serving condiments or food. They have a Jun Yao style of coloring of mottled blue and green with dabs of purple in the interior; outer walls are painted with ochre streaks. Here is a lovely small tray in an exquisite blue and brown glaze by Wilhelm Kage for Gustavsberg, Sweden. It measures 1 1/4" (3cm) high and is 5 1/2" (14cm) in diameter. On the understand Farsta is impressed on each of the four feet, Gustavsberg, Kage, the Gustavsberg Studio hand insignia, Studio, and the date code Y. This piece was created in 1954. These 10 porcelain plates were produced in England by Royal Worcester in 1932. They have the date cipher that indicates this year. The plates have a diameter of 9 1/2 inches. They are made of fine bone china and have a slightly scalloped edge. The ground color is cobalt blue with a lacy fern type gilding over it. American Rockingham, the ware for which Bennington, Vermont became famous in the mid 19th century, is English in origin and name for the Marquis of Rockingham, whose works at Swinton produced a ware similar brownish color. The pottery itself is cream colored or yellow ware that is dipped in or spattered with a brown glaze before firing.

An Arabia Finland stoneware bowl, the inside with glazed decoration of a shrimp. 1960s, signed Arabia and NH (?) Width: 6 " / 15 cm. Condition: some iridescent and matte imperfections to the glaze in the centre (less evident than on the photo).

This interesting vase has a notch in it making it look a little like Pac Man, but giving it a very distinct form. However, we believe that it was created in a studio by excellent ceramicists who decorated the vase with free flowing green and blue glazes. One side has a stack of incised chevrons running down the center. The underside is marked with what appears to be W NZ VI, marks whose identity elude us. The vase has considerable heft for its size.
