Melusina or Melusine is a heroine in medieval European folklore. This figurine is a modernist version of her transformation into an often two-tailed mermaid or fish. Unglazed stoneware and gilt hairstyle. Little is known about Y-Keramik other than the workshop was situated in former Western Germany and that the gilding was made of 24 karat gold, this information available on paper labels on other Y-Keramik figures from the 1970's. French Majolica knife rests from the 1950s, a pair. Handmade, unsigned but likely from Vallauris, the foremost ceramic centre in postwar France, also favoured by artists like Picasso. Length c."4/ 10 cm. Condition: a small glaze flake to the tip of the tail of one dove (cf. pic 3 and 4).

Fine LARGE Glazed Stoneware Studio Pottery Jar - Malcolm Pepper

This large and impressive stoneware jar was made by Malcolm Pepper (1937 - 1980) during the 1970s. It is "heavily-potted" and attractively decorated. Looking inside shows it was thrown in two sections, luted together at the widest part of the body. The outer surface coated in a finely-crackled transparent glaze that has a hint of green. The inner surface coated in a dark iron glaze.

This porcelain demitasse cup, saucer and plate was produced in German by Meissen between 1924 and the 1930s. The plate measures 6 1/4 inches in diameter and the saucer is 4 1/4 inches in diameter and 1 inch deep. The cup is 2 inches high with a diameter of 2 1/2 inches. The cup has the traditional pointed edges on the rim and a twisted branch handle. Each piece has sprays of hand painted flowers. They are realistic and very colorful...

Decorative paté jar, the lid of which is topped by a reclining, sleepy duck. Made around 1920 by Heubach, an old family business in Thuringia, Germany. Octagonal and hand painted with panels of stylized roses. In all, the design is between Art Nouveau / Jugendstil and Art Déco. With the printed Heubach Kunst Porzellan mark in use from 1910 to 1945, and impressed model number 10828. Height with the duck "4 ¼ / 11 cm and diameter "4 ¾ / 12 cm. Condition: fine.

Large charger by Val M. Cushing (USA, New York, 1931-2013), from his "shard series". Circa 1970-1980. 18" in diameter. Signed. Cushing was professor of ceramics at Alfred University. His works are in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum, the Smithsonian, the National Design Museum, the Everson Museum to just name a few.

A Pair of Rorstrand Blue and White Porcelain Mugs, featuring a Lion and Crowns. Swedish (20th century). Size 0.5 liter; dimensions 6.25" high x 3.75".

This is a 19th century Chinese shallow curved plate featuring a lively grouping of eight spotted blue and white horses, depicting a wedding story from Chinese mythology; unglazed footrim; greige coloration; a four-character mark on the underside; condition: several minor chips on the rim; SIZE: 5" diam.

Pretty porcelain vase handpainted in soft shades of blue and green over a gently shaded blue background. The porcelain is of the finest quality and the glaze is impeccable. The bottom is marked with the green stamp with the date mark for 1961. The bottom also has the artist’s lowercase initials “SY” and the pattern number “2679/295”.

This fine china is the American Franciscan Ivy pattern. The dinner plate is 10 3/8" in diameter, embossed, and hand-painted under glaze. It was made by the Gladding, McBean & Company circa 1948

One dinner plate shows very little crazing and the other shows the crazing in the bottom of the plate. Pictures 2 and 3 show the back stamps for each of these plates. These plates retail for $29.95 each.

Roseville Futura jardinaire measuring 10" x 14 3/4" wide, this grey outside with pink leaves is in perfect condition. The inside has some water stains as it was used for plants, but it is otherwise perfect original condition.

Pair Roseville candlesticks Style #1134. What makes these different from virtually all other Roseville pieces is that they show the iris blooms in the normal three dimentional shape, rising up from the base. The blooms are white tinged with a pinkish lavender and bits of yellow. They measure 3 1/2" tall x 4" wide and are in excellent condition.

This old ceramic tray/plate is made for the Straits Chinese Community, it is of the typical pheonix design. It is an example of the nyonya ware, handpainted and used for serving tea. It is not in good condition as there are small cracks and hairlines on the four corner and lots of scratches all over the surface. Please ask for more photos....

This is beautiful piece that can be used as a candlestick holder or a small vase. It has a lovely Scandinavian, flowing design. Made of sterling silver, it stands 5 1/8" tall. Its base has a diameter of 3". It weighs 3 ounces. The base is marked with a whale hallmark and marked DENMARK. I have left it unpolished. It is truly beautiful and in excellent condition.

A Royal Crown Derby 2451 Old Imari pattern English bone china tea cup and saucer circa 1923. The teacup is 3-3/8" tall and the matching saucer is 5-5/8" across. Each has the red Derby mark and the year cipher for 1923 (the saucer has an underglaze 1922 as well). Pre 1970s old Imari is entirely hand painted, unlike now.
