This is a wonderful hand painted cottageware /cottage ware biscuit jar, biscuit barrel or cookie jar made by Price Brothers, Kensington, Staffordshire England. This item is from the 1940s and is marked Ye Olde Cottage. The shape is a thatched cottage with it's original rattan handle. It is 7" tall without the handle x 5" deep x 6" wide. These is a flake on the inside rim.

I am not a specialist in this sort of thing, but will describe to the best of my ability: this is a vintage, circa 1920's to early 1940's at latest, ceramic work depicting a distant fairy castle, towering cumulus clouds in the sky, a grove of trees at right balancing the scene. Measurements are 9 1/2" by 10 1/2" by 7/8" thick, and the piece weighs roughly 2 3/4 pounds. More than likely this is by one of the known ceramic works of California from the Arts and Crafts period; found in Los Angeles...

This three cup candelabra (which may be turned upside down) measures 5" tall and is 7 1/8" in length. On the underside of one of the cups is painted Sweden 26III; on another the Gustavsberg Studio hand insignia and the painter's mark of a star. The cups are hand painted in blue, yellow and red. This pair of porcelain swans was produced in the United States by Lenox between 1930 and 1960. They measure 4 3/4 inches long and 3 1/8 inches high. The porcelain swan forms a little cup like vessel in which to hold nuts or mints. The porcelain is molded in the shape of a swan with graceful neck and defined feathers. It is colored salmon pink. The edges of the wing, tail and feet are accented with gold. Condition: Excellent

"Frence hand painted" mark French Porcelain fluted marquise shape small Dish, maybe Samson Porcelain factory, 1960's, 1" high, 4" 3 1/4" wide, beautifully raised enamel painted of Pomegranate branch in the center inside border of scrolling vines with lots of brilliant gold highlighted. A classic late Art Deco or early modernist porcelain water jug advertising Ricard Anisette. In the south of France, tradition dictates that anise-flavored aperitifs should be served with water to dilute the drink. Makers such as Ricard and Pernod provided advertising pitchers to local bars and cafes to increase their sales. This squared-off rectangular form is less common than the traditional globe-shaped pitcher and became popular after World War II...

Mosaic pottery tazza and vase from the 1940s or 50s, by Gerbino, France. The handling and modelling of clays in various colors necessary for the creation of this kind of art objects was a complicated procedure, mastered only by Jean Gerbino and his family in Vallauris, the French studio pottery center of the period. Impressed marks Gerbino and Vallauris. Height of tazza "3 ½ / 9 cm and of the vase "5 ½ / 14 cm, diameter of tazza "6/ 15 cm. Condition: fine.

Three small dishes in a soft leaflike shape, in the white and very thinly glazed. From the Revernay pottery (founded in a village with that name around 1900 and moved to Vallauris in southern France after WWII). Many avantgarde ceramists who worked in modernist style – one of them being Picasso – gathered in Vallauris in the 50s and 60s. Width "3 / 7.5 cm. Condition: rim frits to one dish (cf. pics).

This is a rarely found object as part of Wilhelm Kåge's celebrated Argenta series produced for Gustavsberg. It measures 1 5/8" tall and is 1 7/8" in diameter. On the underside is painted in silver Argenta, the old Gustavsberg anchor insignia, Gustavsberg, 958. Impressed is the letter S. Excellent condition. There is crazing, which is normal for the glaze.

Very fine Herend large triangle dish in the Queen Victoria pattern, green border, circa 1940. Four(4) French Majolica Faience Pottery Asparagus Plates, Dishes, 9 1/4" diameter, 7/8" high, raised Asparagus design with separate section for Hollandaise Sauce area with basket weave design border. Marked on the bottom "Sarreguemines, France" in black, no damages.

This is a large vase, and rather heavy, 21 1/2" long, 11" across, signed with a "P" in the chalky base. I've examined it closely and find no chips on rim or anywhere else. The piece is entirely hand thrown and decorated/painted, and quite Arts and Craftsy in feeling. I am a paintings specialist so this is somewhat out of my league. I did send images to Rago Auction in New Jersey and they were unable to identify the maker. It was found here in Southern California...

This porcelain bowl was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg in the mid 20th century. It has both an impressed shield and printed mark. It is 8 1/8 inches in diameter and 1 1/2 inches deep. The porcelain is designed with molded ribs and slight scallops on the rim. It is hand painted with a bouquet of flowers in the center and little buds dotting the border. The rim is trimmed with gold. Excellent squat Rookwood vase with raised decoration featuring large three-leaf clovers and flowers.
