I have always really liked the black bottle doll doorstops. They are something I keep more than I sell. I am offering of few of mine for sale so here is the second one. This bottle doll with her head tipped to one side and her mouth, down turned and barely visible is wearing a red polka dot dress with a shear cap and apron. Wonderful folk art box of a pyramid that opens to reveal sections to hold cigarettes and matches. The entire surface is inlaid with square or rectangular pieces of wood in varying shades of brown and beige. It measures 5 1/2" high and is 9 3/8" square, sitting on 4 geometric feet. Surface appears to have a light varnish coating. The form is a copy of the pyramid at Chichen Itza in the Yucatan Peninsula...

I acquired this basket in England about fifteen years ago. It measures 18 3/4" across and is about 2 3/4" high. It is dusty and there is a little rim damage (see photos). I found it along with a basket (also listed in my shop) that I believe is of South American origin...

American needlework sampler I would date to about 1935-1950, hand embroidered in traditional style, silk thread on cotton, the imagery of a house and tree, the sweet message being "Here let us live Life at its Best/ Here my we find/ Comfort and Rest". No glass, good vintage condition, some faint old very light brownish staining to background.

DESCRIPTION: A handsome, engraved and painted slate checkers and chest game board, the solid board with beveled corners and alternating brown squares with round felt pads on back four corners. Sourced in Vermont, very good condition. DIMENSIONS: 15 1/4" x 15 1/2".

Found in Freeport, Maine, this is a PAIR of circa 1870 American drawings, (possibly a bit earlier), the first of General George Washington on a prancing horse, the second of a cut glass compote overflowing with fruit. Each measures 11 3/4" by 8 3/4" inside the mats, 16" by 12" overall, one of the mats deep maroon, the other, black. They are unframed, taped on the reverse to the mats at the edges...

Antique cloth doll with center seam face, nice pinched nose, bead eyes with feather stitched eyebrows. She has a tiny red floss stitched mouth. She has leather arms in poor condition but they really look original, long shaped legs and turned feet. Her body is skillfully sewn and is firmly stuffed with cotton. She has a very large derriere that allows her to sit easily. She is made with black sateen fabric. She has a few mends but is in good solid condition. Her dress is sewn and is in shreds...

A unique piece, made of a tropical wood, 12 1/4" by 6" by 3 1/4", the box hinged, opening from the top, revealing scooped-out recesses when opened. A bird incised with a burning tool and the date 1964 also so incised appear on the front portion that opens out. On the sides, likewise, a design is burned into the wood. This appears to me to be of Caribbean (Haitian?), Mexican/Central American or South American origin, though I suppose it could be African (I think, much less likely)...
