Sigi is short for Sigfredo Pineda, who set up his own workshop in the 1950's and is still producing modernist jewelry. He apprenticed under Castillo, not William Spratling as he was born somewhat later, in 1929. This six-sided bangle is a truly rare Georg Jensen piece and undoubtedly has gone out of production. It was bought in 1968 and has not been worn very much. This is a design done more than 50 years ago and a long-time GJ dealer in New York says he cannot remember ever having seen the piece. Inside one of the six sides of the bangle is the Georg Jensen mark in a circle of dots, 925S Denmark, and the number 177. The internal diameter is 7cm (2.75in).

Florence Peruzzi jewelry has not had a published relationship to the more collectible and harder to find jewelry created by the former Gino M. Peruzzi Jewel Shop of Boylston Street in Boston MA. All that is known is that Gino came here from Italy and enjoyed a healthy rivalry with G. Cini who was said to have moved his store 2 doors from the other. Vintage Boston era early shield mark of "Guglielmo Cini Sterling" used while he was here in Boston before he moved out West in 1957. A client, who lives in WA and who commissioned his wedding rings in Boston several decades ago, has shared that Cini moved very close to Peruzzi and competed feverishly for the more unusual gothic designs and custom work, no doubt...
