Delightful sterling silver ostrich sculpture from Taxco, Mexico. Designed and produced in the early 1950's, it is fully hallmarked. The intricately detailed head, neck, feathers, legs and feet are attached to the body which is a hard stone egg. In excellent condition, this rare find stands tall measuring 5" high by 5.75" head to tail.

Early handmade arts and crafts copper and mirror box designed and signed by Taxco, Mexico artist Hector Aguilar. Meaures 6 1/2"L X 4 1/4"D X 2 1/4"H. The surface is decorated in uneven concentric rings of darker and lighter green mottled patination, separated by thin bands of polished bronze. Very nice set of eight sterling silver cocktail picks with rooster finials brightly decorated in translucent basse-taille enamels. The engraved decoration underneath the enamel lends realistic feathery details to the roosters. The exposed areas of silver are gilt. The backs are marked "925S Norway Sterling."
