From our World Handicrafts Collection (ex-Asia), a very striking and highly unusual vintage silk on cotton kilim style rug, Persia, executed in a bold multi-colored palette of red, gold, purple, blue, rust, green, brown, peach, pink, cream, turquoise and black. It's a legitimate reflex to assume this unusual kilim comes from somewhere in the Caucasus Region, but further research suggests that the lion and double eagles in the center panel are actually Persian motifs de guerre...

Lovely vintage Saint Lawrence seal (not seal but type of deep woods animal) fur cape with fold-over collar that extends to create slit pockets, held together with one fur hook and a beautiful detailed silhouette featuring fully lined pink doupioni silk, monogrammed, Wilhelm's Albany label, circa 1930. Fabulous sassy pouch and totally intact, a major feat for a little purse that ancient! Large blue faceted beads, two levels of tiny silver bead fringe and an eight strand long tassel. Great lining and metal drawstring. Some lucky person danced the Charleston with this little purse swinging from her wrist. Diameter of purse fully opened 4 1/2", length of purse 5", length of tassel 2 1/2", wristband tightens automatically by metal drawstring to fit any size wrist.

This purse was purchased from a very fine estate sale, and the quality of this Judith Jack purse reflects the sale from which it came. The marquisite (pyrite) is "grade A" mined in South America. The stones are hand set in sterling silver. The design and craftsmanship are superb. The lining repeatedly presents Judith Jack's name. The metal cartouche says "Judith Jack, made in Italy." Purse is 5 1/2" by 4 5/8". 1 1/2" front to back. Beaded chain is 11 1/2" end to end.

Sassy little pouch purse! This little guy is a charmer. Lovely leather and sleek and shiny ranch mink. The leather plaque on the interior zipper compartment says : made in Italy for Lord & Taylor, 100% mink. The lining ( in perfect condition just like the outside ) repeats over and over again: Paola del Lungo. Purse is 10" wide, 7 1/2" high, 3" side to side. The straps are 22" end to end.

Gorgeous vintage Hermes silk scarf (“carré”) worked in rich shades of medium blue, cream, golds, browns and greys. The design illustrates various 18th century gilded carriage or chariot wheels, including one emblazoned with an image of the Sun King, Louis XIV. The hand-rolled edges (rolled toward the front) are plump. “Hermès Paris” is worked into the design, as is the signature of the desiger, Caty Latham.

A rare and wonderful two sided micro-petit point purse made for a child. On one side is a depiction of an 18th century courting couple, under a tree by a river, with the man holding a mandolin serenading the woman. The reverse side shows homes along the river, and a sailboat.
