Tiffin made Twilight for many, many years. It does change color -- icey blue in fluorescent lighting, pastel lavendar in sunlight or incandescent (the old light bulbs). This compote is made from Duncan & Miller's Canterbury mold. Made in the 1960-70's. It is in mint condition and stands 5.25" tall and about 7" at its widest. These four Minton Gold Ancestral dessert plates (#S 595) are quite handsome indeed. Each are marked on the back and also each has the Minton imprint. The brown-red transfer decoration of flowers and leaves is painted with turquoise and pink enamel to accent the flowers. Each plate is trimmed in gold and is in excellent condition. Beautiful lobed Kutani yaki dish in Yoshidaya style, modern. Decoration of camellia in white, aubergine, green, speckled yellow and gilt. The back with a character in gilt, possibly Qiu, meaning Autumn. It is also defined by Graesse in his classical work about pottery and porcelain marks as from the village of Shinomine in Arita. Two beautiful and very thinly potted bowls by Sven Hofverberg in his experimental studio in south Sweden. This pair of porcelain vases was produced in Germany by Meissen in 1973. They measure 5 1/4 inches high and have a diameter of 3 1/4 inches. They have a rich cobalt blue ground. The reserves on the front of the vases are expertly hand painted. The sprays of brightly colored flowers are framed in elaborate gilded cartouches. There are other gilded features and trim. They have a graceful shape with pedestal bases and handles. It is lovely to find a matching pair...
