Copper and enamel pendant, an early piece by Finnish Pentti Sarpaneva (1925-78). PS, a brother of Timo S, started out as a graphic artist. In his thirties he became a designer of jewels. The “eye” enclosed in a round or square shape is a recurrent theme in his jewelry designs. The little spikes are mobile. A mother of pearl necklace, the double-sided pendant inlaid with pieces of various shades of MOP to harmonize with the motives of a palace and a pagoda. Korean? Diameter of the pendant is "1 ¾ / 4.6 cm, length of chain "21 / 55 cm. The necklace is restrung and the present string is elastic. Condition: fine.
