Very rare complete jacket back panel from the remote Miao Jiupang group from Jiahe County, Guizhou province (see last enlargement), with purple embroidered pattern between the spaces in the tin decoration. This style of decoration is unique to this group and very difficult to make, as every tiny bit of tin has to be individually cut and crimped. Recently acquired from a private Hong Kong collector, these are the first examples I have send of these I have seen in the past 10 years...

An amusing tonkotsu, a container for tobacco, skillfully carved in wood as a man emerging from a basket! His clasped hands pierced to allow a suspension cord, not present. The eyes are inlaid and the base has a mother of pearl signature tablet.
A 20th century production but hand carved.
Approximately 12.5 cm high...
Simple yet elegant sobriquet seal utilizing a Chinese stone similar to chicken blood stone. The seal contains an inscription which translates as: The seal was carved on an auspicious day in December of 1958 (for) Fujiwara Gyokuun. The carved bottom of the seal contains a three character text reading: Kingensen, or The well where gold can be found. Size: height 1.75" width 0.5" length 1.25"

Beautiful Japanese Satsuma mint dishes with Japanese price tags on the back. They are signed and in new condition, circa 1950 to 1960.

Vintage Japanese sunburst jasper obidome (sash ornament). Obidome is worn on an obi cord that holds the obi sash together, it is the only type of jewelry worn by Japanese women on formal occasions, and could serve as netsuke as well. Nice stone, natural lines in the material, beautiful finish, very pleasant to handle. Brass frame with two fittings on the back for a cord. Length 1.6 inches.
A lavishly decorated Chinese porcelain stool. The top is done in a red based motif with a five clawed dragon flying within the clouds. The body of the vase is decorated with scrolling vines and auspicious motifs scattered around the background, a motif often seen since the Ming dynasty. Age: 20th century Size: Diameter 11.5" Height 16"
This is a **PAIR** of scroll paintings, rolled, length of the landscape image about 25" long by 13" wide, with about 20" more total length between the rollers, the calligraphy image 52" long by 13" wide, with an additional 21" of length between the rollers. I am not a specialist in Asian art like this, but, I believe these items have some age, perhaps early 20th century...

This is a full set of quality Karuta game cards, traditionally played on New Year's day in Japan. It consists of 100 famous Waka poems from the Heian Period selected by FUJIWARA no Teike later in the 13th century. These poems are called Ogura Hyakunin (100 people) Isshu (one neck or head)...

Nicely carved Chinese agate group showing two birds on a rock with flowers. Dating to mid 20th century. With matching wooden stand. Condition: base of the carving with a tiny flake (not visible), right bird's beak with a tiny chip (see photo No. 11). Dimension: carving: c. 10.8 cm high x 13.5 cm long x 4 cm deep, height with stand: 14.2 cm.
