The size of Kamakura-bori Deep Kashi Bowl: 10 3/4"Dia x 1 3/4" High. About 5/8" Thickness. This is prettiest of Kamakura-bori Kashi Bowl ever seen. The bowl is from Showa 13 th, 1938, 76 years old. It is dated on the back as 1938, April 18th. It has beautiful carved design of Ebisu and Daikoku design with Hoju (treasures). Two are from Shichifukujin (seven lucky Gods.). The both Ebisu and Daikoku faces are finely and deeply carved into the wooden body...
A limited-edition color woodblock print by the Japanese Sosaku Hanga artist Kiyoshi Saito (1907-1997). Titled "Obakusan Uji (A)", dated "1960" and numbered "38/150" in pencil. Hand signed in black ink and with red seal. Paper with watermark "Kiyoshi Saito". Condition: very good impression and color, laid down at upper corners. Ink and colors on paper, excellent impressionist rendition of a classic theme, superb free brushwork. Signed and sealed SHOSEN in lower right corner. A very lovely natural green Burmese jadite necklace, all stones were selected to match, none were dyed. The clasp is marked 'silver' and by the art deco design of it we date the piece to the 1920 - 1930's. The necklace measures 24" and consists of three strands. This is a nice weighty but very comfortable necklace, highly stylish and elegant, a real crowd pleaser.
A very unusual modern Japanese pottery vase. Exaggerated chatter decoration spiraling from the foot to the shoulder, the tacky clay lifted to a very coarse texture before firing. The neck to rim, also spiraling up the vase, finished smoothly. Apparently in the tradition of the stoneware tile work kilns of Bizen and Tokoname. Studio artist marks in impressed cartouches on the foot. Excellent condition. Height, 8 inches.

DESCRIPTION: An unusual netsuke featuring an abalone shell crafted from wavy burl wood with an ivory lobster perched on top. The lobster’s curled antennas are made of metal, and on the underside of the shell a signature is etched into the wood. Early to mid 20th century in very good condition. DIMENSIONS: 1 ¾” long (4.5 cm).

Very rare complete jacket back panel from the remote Miao Jiupang group from Jiahe County, Guizhou province (see last enlargement), with purple embroidered pattern between the spaces in the tin decoration. This style of decoration is unique to this group and very difficult to make, as every tiny bit of tin has to be individually cut and crimped. Recently acquired from a private Hong Kong collector, these are the first examples I have send of these I have seen in the past 10 years...

Lotuses and peonies peek in through the sides of the badge, over a background of geometric patterns in blue silk; Green, blue, purple, and white lights are along the bottom, meeting with blue waves or clouds and auspicious elements in bright pinks and purples; Cherry blossoms, bamboo leaves, and blue geometric patterns outline the badge.

This is a rustic brushpot a farmer in rural Hubei carved this out of a tree trunk. He spotted the branch at the right and decided not to trim it Hence this pot has a handle. Its skin is old and patinated. It is a charming pot. It dates from the 19th century.
