All hand-sewn Eskimo doll probably made sometime during the 60's. She is dressed in nicely detailed fur parka with fox trimmed hood and has hand-painted facial features on leather face with fur hair She is 11 inches high and in good condition

Dating early Republic period, these beautiful Chinese porcelain umbrella stands are mirror images of each other and thus a true matching pair. Fleece-lined and hand-made using the old fashioned traditional Chinese methods, only the mid 20th century fabric of the lining and ears identify these shoes as a later made at a later time period. They were probably made by a dotting grandmother and were well worn by a young child.

This collection of 3 hand carved wooden hair combs is from the Nigerian Yoruba tribe. They were brought to the US by a (then young) anthropologist who traveled extensively in Africa during the early 1960's and have been retained in his personal collection until recently.

The taller center comb is 8 inches and the shorter combs on the sides are 4.25 inches. I prefer to sell them as a collection.

Very large, early handmade painted animal skin and wood TLINGIT drum with beater by ODIN LONNING(born 1953 in Alaska), c.1970's. Huge, it measures 20 1/2" in diameter by almost 3" deep. Beautiful Japanese Deco Period bronze vase, raised stylized motif on front and back, wonderful deep reddish patina, signed on bottom, Taisho/Showa Period (early 20th century). Size: 6 3/4" high x 6" wide.

This brightly colored child's hat is Dong ethnic minority. The front is decorated with 9 silver Buddha ornaments and lots of intricate embroidery. Tassels and pompoms decorate the sides and silver bells with fish ornaments across the back protect the child from the approach of evil spirits.

A simple but very typical figure from the remote Karnali district for more complete information and to see similar quality of figures, one can consult the only catalog devoted to this field : La Statuaire Archaique de l'Ouest du Népal, R. Vanuxem Paris 2006 ( text in english). This kind of figures are associated with animist cult of protection of house or village. This figure is covered with a white mineral mixture (often called Kaolin) and obviously was kept inside...

Vintage Korean front opening bandaji (storage chest) decorated with white brass hardware incised with fish and yin/yang designs. The front drops open to reveal three interior drawers and a removable shelf above a large hidden lower compartment. Complete with the original functioning key and lock, which is finely incised with a calligraphy motif. Side carrying handles. Appears to dates from the first half of the 20th century. 31 ½”H x 38 ¼”W x 17”D. Very good overall condition...

A lovely Japanese fruitwood tray produced in the late Taisho period. The scene was hand carved with a thin gold gilt applied in the carved areas. The tray was made from one piece of wood and has a beautiful warm patina. In excellent condition, it measures 10" diameter and the rim is 1.5" high.

A silver charm/pendant or talisman. The bottom metal has light depressions where it appears to have been flattened before being added to the piece. No marks and untested. 1-1/4" x 1-1/2"
