Vintage summer hitoe kimono made of a silk and hemp(asa) weave. It has a beautiful print pattern of orange blossoms and paulowni blossoms in blue/green, yellow, and silver. It would have been worn over the juban, the under robe, which would have been white to bring out the colors of the robe. It measures 61" long 51" wide. Showa period, 1950-1970.

Japanese cloisonne small vase with blooming roses. There is a fully bloomed red rose and a small budding red rose. Along the base, there is a blooming white rose with pink edged petals. The body of the vase is a cool white. Taisho period, early 20th century. It measures 1.75" base diameter, 4" widest, 5" tall. Good condition.

DESCRIPTION: A large and colorful Chinese fencai Imari lidded jar, the body decorated with diamond shaped, hand painted panels in raised enamels with designs of flowers, dragons, bamboo, birds and pine, separated by dark blue borders. The shoulder and foot are bordered in dark blue with white designs, while the knobbed lid is enameled with white flowers on an orange ground. A small yet lively Chinese jade carving of a mythical beast known as pixiu, a mythical beast that is similar to a winged lion. The pixiu is an important creature that attracts zaiqi or the energy of wealth and retains it while keeping evil spirits at bay, according to traditional fengshui. Age: 19th century. A beautiful Chinese brush holder made of ebony, well carved, some of the natural forms were remained. Some age cracks, otherwise very good condition. Height: 7-1/4"; Weight: 1486 grams(3.28 lb).

A Mi'kmaq beadwork floral wall hanging from 1900-1930. This bright and cheerful vintage East Coast Micmac 4-7/8" diameter wall hanging features a flower basket motif, with yellow, light and deep green, red, orange, brown and black beads sewn on what looks like mustard coloured felt, and sewn to/backed with a deerskin backing. The hanging strap is in brown shell-shaped beads (they look like small painted shells or seeds) with green and yellow beads...

A traditional oribe ware handled dish decorated with geometric patterns and the signature green glaze that oribe wares are known for. The green glaze used for oribe is thought be difficult to produce and only the most skilled potters can produce the green color by knowing the temperature and timing when fired. The dish was produced by the Gensui kiln in Seto city Aichi prefecture. The studio specializes in producing oribe wares. Age: Showa Period. Size: height 10" diameter 14.5"

A large Japanese gourd flower container with a section of the gourd cut out to place a small container to decorate flowers inside. A rattan handle is attached on the top of the gourd. Hisago is a type of gourd often used for various purposes in Japanese culture. The gourd embodies the Japanese aesthetic of wabi sabi. Age: 20th century. Size: height 18" diameter 17.5"

Great composition with alert beast looking into the background hidden in beautifully depicted mist. Wonderful quality realistic painting, superb brushwork - see the detailing of hairs on its coat.
