Obidome is worn on an obi cord that holds the obi sash together, it is the only type of jewelry worn by Japanese women on formal occasions, and could serve as netsuke as well. Excellent sharp carving, beautiful painted highlights, very pleasant to handle. Signed on the back with a kakihan (carved monogram) of the artist. Length 3.1 inches.

Netsuke of standing Jurojin (one of the 7 Gods of happiness, usually associated with longevity) holding a scroll and a fan in his hands, with a reclining spotted deer (symbol of longevity) by his feet. Excellent carving - see the detailing of his face, incised fingernails, coat and spots of the deer. Great quality staining, beautiful patina. Japanese 20th century tea bowl. The deeply thrown tea bowl has the design of bridge and flowers. Stamp on artist on bottom. The bowl measures 3" tall, 4 3/4" in diameter at the top and 1 7/8" in diameter at the base.

This small textile features 25 small mirrors ("shisha") and measures 8.2 x 17.8 cm. There are supposed to be 26 mirrors but one of them is missing, either intentionally or not. Silk and metallic thread on cotton, densely embroidered throughout, with very fine button hole stitching and Romanian couching technique in the center. Mid to late 20th century. Condition is excellent.

Afshar rug from the second half of the 20th century, hand knotted wool. It has a dark blue ground with reds, greens and off white colors in the pattern. It measures 48" by 61".

Hand knotted Kazak rug with blue, red and yellow hues throughout. The border is an ornate interlacing pattern. It measures 97" by 69".

Vintage Kazak hand-knoted wool rug with red and cream colored medallions on blue ground. The center is dominated by a striking blue and red design, the border complements the center with more light colors. Second half of the 20th century. It measures 84" by 68".

The Kuchi are the nomadic and semi-nomadic people of Afghanistan. This cushion was made from a traditional Kuchi textile and has burgundy velvet on the reverse with cording along the edges. The embroidery is intricate ladder stitch and button hole stitch, with cotton thread and metallic braiding throughout. Condition is great. It measures 44 x 64 cm. Estimated age mid to late 20th century.

Unusual good size glass ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) in ball shape with hollow inside and bright design of 2 sunbursts with wavy blue and yellow rays.
