Enigmatic green and red florals capped by ascending butterflies alternate with bird images in the cathedral-like windows on the side of this large vessel by Kyoto artist Yamazaki Koyo enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The vase is 13-1/2 inches (34 cm) tall and in fine condition, dating circa 1950. Koyo (1890-1979) studied under Kiyomizu Rokubei VI, and was displayed consistently in many National and Local Exhibitions...

Black swirls on background of burnt orange glass form this letter holder from a desk set series produced by Salviati in the late 1970's. The piece stands 4 inches (10 cm) tall, 6 inches (15 cm) wide, and is 3 inches (7.6 cm) deep. There is a small, less than 1/8 inch (.3 cm), flake on the edge of the piece, but otherwise in fine condition. Circa 1975

This is a beautiful blue and white medium size brush or joss stick stand. It is decorated with the character “shou” meaning long life in the centre, with two kui dragon with split tails to the left and right of “shou” character, and scrolling foliage all over. The sides is decorated with lotus flower and below it is a ruyi head amidst scrolling foliage. The blue and white brush or joss stick stand has a honorific Qianglong seal mark but is from the early 20th century...

A vintage 5-1/4" across sterling silver bonbon bowl by Randahl. Founded by Julius Randahl in Chicago in 1911, it was later sold to Reed & Barton in 1965. This bowl weighs 59.4 grams, it is stamped RANDAHL 57 STERLING, and it is in very good vintage condition with no monograms, major dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a tiny dent on the bottom surface (barely noticeable)...

A finely sculpted bust of a young man with exceptional patina of finely blended earth and bronze pigments. Physical condition is superb, but a small amount of finish has worn around the left eye and on the top of the head exposing a green substrate, yet harmonious with the earthen finish. Signed on the back of the neck. We have been unable to decipher the signature; yet the work speaks well for the unidentified artist. Dimension: 13" h

Chogappo made of fragments of white choma (ramie) whose weft and warp are hand-plied. Natural color fragments are mixture of choma and silk. "Pojagi" is the general name for the wrapping cloth and "chogappo" is one kind of pojagi which is patchworked with asa (mainly choma, ramie) fragments.(reference source: "Korean Embroidery and Wrapping Cloths from the Choson Dynasty" published by Japan Art & Culture Association in 1995). This beautiful Tiffin whisper-thin, blown glass compote features medallions or cameos of dancing nudes with scarves. The cameos are acid etched and show satin glass as the background.
