Vintage pair of cut jadeite pieces to be used as Chinese scholar’s scroll weights. Stone of olive green color with natural lines and differently colored veins, sides showing the skin of the boulder from which the pieces were cut. Nicely polished, very pleasing objects for a scholar’s desk. Height (left one of the first photo) 2 11/16 inches, weight of the left one 265 grams (9.4 ounces), the right one 210 grams (7.4 ounces).

Vintage- antique Chinese Brass cloisonné and enamel large lidded box . The box has a wonderful raised medallion on the lid depicting a courtesan in a pavilion garden , the lid edge has auspicious symbols with color enamel . The interior of the box is done in blue enamel and the base marked China. Size diameter 5" H 2.25" great stash box or humidor

A watercolor mixed media (some pencil and perhaps gouache) painting of a weathered Native American or other classic male image of the Southwest, signed at lower left "J W Kolstad". The piece measures 10 1/2" by 10 1/2" inside the black mat and 18" by 17" as framed. Reminiscent of some works by Remington or Lon Megargee, this is a very satisfying southwestern piece. Condition is excellent. The date of execution would likely be 1960's or 1970's.

This porcelain dish was produced in Bavaria, Germany by Tirschenreuth in the 1960s. It measures 7 5/8 inches long, 5 3/4 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches deep. It is artist signed “Andrews.” The porcelain dish is formed in the shape of a leaf and has a handle on one end. The inside of the dish is hand painted with vividly colored flowers and raspberries. There is heavy gilding around the rim and on the handle...

The Santa maria line was produced by Consolidated Glass Company in 1926 and items in this line are very difficult to find. Offered here is the #2566 Covered Cigarette Box in crystal. The cover depicts Columbus' flagship, the Santa Maria, while the bottom has dolphins on each side. Excellent condition. The original company ad reads, "Appeals to both men and women. Can be used for cigarettes or on a dresser or vanity to hold powder." (I keep tootsie rolls in mine....)

The body of the jar and lid are ribbed and have a lovely iridescence. The bottom of the base has multi-point pontil marks. It stands 6"high by 4" diameter. A similar fruit-topped lid is shown in Carol Osbourne's "Venetian Glass of the 1890s: Salviati at Stanford University" P. 126, Plate 137. The piece is in excellent condition.

This lovely fazzoletto vase attributed to Archimede Seguso demonstrates the skill of the Murano Artisan. Comprised of clear, netted opalino filigree, and aventurine cane, this beauty is in excellent condition. 4.5x4x4"

Japanese vase of convex shape, Totai decoration of a bird and a butterfly among leaves and berry bushes. The motif created by thin metal threads is filled in with colored lacquer and polished. The brown lacquer background is carved as to resemble tree bark (totai). This complicated technique for decoration on porcelain was in use in Japan in the 1920’s and 30’s.The base with old paper label, indistinct letters in blue and the word “Lacquer”. A lidded bowl of flattened shape. Shiny glaze over flower fantasy motif in typical Gouda Art Noveau style, c 1920's. Diameter "6 ¾/ 17 cm, height "3 ½/ 9 cm. Painted marks 741 and Gouda, gate-mark, Holland and painter's mark "P", the figures also incised. Condition: chip to rim of lid as shown on photo, otherwise fine.

Silk kimono decorated in yuzen technique with design of flowering stalks. Bamboo, cherry blossom and marigold. On the stalks small beetles crawl up. Outlines of flowers in silver. Inside partly lined with red silk. Japan, Showa period, mid 20th century.
Length 66 in. (168 cm), sleeve to sleeve 49 ½ in. (126 cm).
Few light stains, one torn seam at sleeve (ca. 2 in.), one small moth hole in seam of other sleeve, otherwise good condition.

String instrument ("saranghi") made of wood, decorated on its top with a human figure. Fine dark brown glossy patina. Himalayan region, early 20th century. Height: 42 cm. The sarangi is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Very good condition. NOTE: collected in Nepal in 1974.
