Nice antique bags from Afghanistan with exquisite silk embroidery. Bought these in Peshawar in the mid 90s. There is red satin on the larger bag is new and can be removed the smaller bag has a stain but may wash out (never tried so no guarantees). Small bag 10.7cm/4.2in x 10.cm/4.2in, larger bag is 14cm/5,5in x 16cm/6.3in.
This is an intaglio cut crystal white wine goblet, signed HAWKES, in the Gravic Fruit pattern, with luscious hand cut and frosted plums, apples, and pears suspended from beautifully incised branches; with knopped stem and square incised foot. Condition: very good, slight rim chip. Measurement: 6 _ in. h.

A fine and complete set of Tibetan saddle Rugs. The set is composed of a woollen saddle blanket in butterfly shape and a matching saddle seat cover. The central medallion decorated with pair of Snow Lions playing with pearls, beige on red ground; borders with stylised dragons, red and blue on beige borders. Snow Lion is the national emblem of Tibet. Large piece: L. 143 cm x 66 cm; 56 x 26 inches.

This drum shows deep carvings, the 3 face s on top are rather unusual, they show fierceful faces , this handle has been collected from Chepang tribes from Hetauda district, this district is south of kathmandu , Chepang are more or less Gipsy people living in forests and they are moving often and are living in established houses. In the past 10 years they have been approach by christian missionaries and few years ago I saw many Dhyangro from this district arriving on the market in Kathmandu...
These are the flat with saucer in the "Desert Rose" pattern by Franciscan China. They are 2 1/4" tall.
There are no chips, no cracks and no repairs to these items. They are in excellent condition.

A Hazara prayer cloth from Wardak or Bamiyan province, Afghanistan, circa early 20th century. Satin stitch in multicolored silk thread on fine white linen. Squares and triangles are embroidered in complex symmetrical arrangements to form a very balanced, unified composition. Measures 32 x 32 cm. Condition: Very good, a small mend on the perimeter.

A weaving pulley ending in an expressive head with some scarifying. Carved from hardwood with dark patina, the reel is fixed with an iron wire. Collected by the Swiss ethnologist Charlotte von Graffenried, author of the book "Akan Goldweights". Condition: traces of usage, some wear, the face with fine cracks. Dimension: c. 19.1 cm high x 6.8 cm wide.
The fabric on this small purse from Bamiyan is cotton, solidly worked in brick stitch in silk thread, the colors alternating between celadon, pink, orange and red. Circa early to mid 20th century. The interlocking rhomboid design and hooked diamonds are typical of Hazara embroidery. This purse measures 10.5 x 18.5 cm when opened, 8 x 10.5 cm when closed. Condition: Excellent (e.g., no stains, no flaws, no damage)
Old tribal mask from the North West of Nepal, Humla district, we can see several old shreds of hairy skin (possibly from goat?) fixed on the forehead and the chin as well as important vestiges of hair fixed with glue around the mouth. The teeth have been sculpted in a very realistic, important black soot patina. H 25 cm, important age from the beginning to the middle of the 20th century

This vase in excellent condition measures approximately 11 1/2" high and is signed with the incised "Greber" signature Pierre borrowed from his uncle Charles. Measuring 63 x 88 inches (160 x 224 cm), this hand-embroidered wedding shawl from the remote region of Indus Kohistan in northeast Pakistan is estimated to date to the mid or late 20th century. Worked in extremely fine cross stitch and satin stitch in silk thread in interlocking geometric motifs and embellished with beaded edges, a textile such as this may take up to six months to produce. This shawl is embroidered on a black cotton ground and is in excellent condition.

An exceptionally fine embroidered purse from Katawaz (Ghazni province), Afghanistan, circa early to mid 20th century. The embroidery on this piece is basically metallic embroidery on both sides, with mirror stitching and fine metallic couching. The front side is comprised of Bokhara couching, where the thread is taken across the surface for the desired length, then, bringing the needle back to the beginning, it is caught down at regular intervals by small stitches...

A drum handle from a gompa used by a lama. The handle can be removed for a better handling, especially when the lama had to go for a family ceremony, marriage, funerals etc. the drum; the drum is quite heavy as it is made in a single piece of wood with almost no figurative carving only one chimeric animal on each side. Total height is about 94 cm; handle is 54 cm diameter 42/44 cm and thickness 20 cm.
Set of 8 beautiful vintage Japanese scalloped porcelain plates from the mid 20th century. The plates are decorated with flowers and other patterns. The outside of the plates are decorate with a blue scrolling pattern. The base is marked with 6 characters. They measure 8" wide.
Small drum handle probably from the small drum of a young shaman. The patina is light brown with beautiful sculptures showing deep reliefs. The design remains classic with a dorgi with deep vertical sculptures, the beak of the Makara is original with a bold circular opening, each side of the triangular tip is carved of the Shiva trident, a pair of intertwined snakes and a standing shaman.
