Large, impressive 1981 painting of an arched stone footbridge over a brook in a leafy, park-like setting, 38" by 50" framed, signed at lower right TOSTRUP. There is a listed artist by the name of Axel Tostrup (born 1947) but I am not certain that this is that artist. What is certain is that the painting is beautifully executed by a talented hand. The sun-dappled effect would have been difficult to achieve; the work features excellent handling of light and shadow. It is in excellent condition and is in a contemporary attractive narrow goldish frame.
