Pair of fine satzuma earthenware vases. The cream colored clay is covered with finely crackled glaze. A golden decoration representing pagodas in a mountainous landscape is placed on a matte black background. Some details are sprinkled to imitate morning mists. 18C Chinese Yongzheng Export Iron Red Boy Goat Porcelain Cup and Saucer
The cup and saucer are painted in iron red heightened with gilt. The flower-shaped saucer is decorated with a boy playing with three goats opposite a prunus branch and rockwork. The cup is decorated with a boy and a lady who are working joyfully. The center of the cup is painted with a flower symbol.

Offered is this metal-mounted cut glass compote, made probably by Baccarat around 1910. The compote is 9 inches (23 cm) wide and 7 1/4 inches (18,5 cm) high. Overall, the compote is in good condition - some age-appropriate tarnishing to the metal (most probably bronze), as expected. Unsigned, except for the number 'M20' on the metal-base (see last picture) - attributed to baccarat.

his is an original nineteenth century sterling watch chain with a substantial square shaped link called a Venetian or box link. Closeup photos reveal the interesting interlocking pattern of the links. A great deal of ingenuity went into making chains, and there is nothing like an original long Victorian watch chain that has never been chopped up into shorter chains, but retains its original length.

Samurai menpo mask with the ressei (fierce) expression, belonging to the me-no-shita "half-face" type, which stands out for its leather surface to simulate finely hammered iron.
Remarkable are the generously sized imposing nose and chin, which add a distinctive element to the face of the mask.

Very large iron tsuba representing a man riding a giant boar. This illustrates the story of a hunter who to defend his lord during a hunting party jumped on a boar, rode it, sat upside down and stabbed it to death. This brave hunter was called Nitan No Shiro and the action took place around Mount Fuji.
