Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this Egyptian green faience amulet of a standing deity. The figure stands erect with the traditional pose featuring the hands at the side. The back is supported by a full dorsal pillar and features a completely intact suspension hole. The figure is worn, but is likely of the standing god Horus, in falcon form. The lower portion of the figure has been lost as well, however the amulet still measures a splendid 1" in height...
Oval wooden plaque decorated with a group of Tarantella dancers, in the marquetry work typical of Sorrento, Italy. Offered is a wonderfully hand-crafted, 19th century SMOOTHING PLANE.
This lovely example has a subtle, coffin-shape form and sports a dovetailed base that was expertly joined. This handsome tool measures 7.25 inches long and retains its original, aged, brownish patina. The owner's initials, "N.S", are stamped on the heel of this plane.
The condition is commensurate with a mildly-used, antique hand tool...
Chinese Ming Dynasty Glazed Pottery Chair (16th Century)
A pottery model of a folding wooden chair made during the 16th century (c.1550 - 1600). Made from a hard creamy-white pottery and coated in green and yellow glazes that have, in places, acquired a silvery iridescence, a result of very long exposure to moisture.

19th century Chinese Peking glass bangle bracelet for a small child of classical shape made out of transparent red glass. Nice color, beautiful bubbles inside the material typical for the period. Beautiful patina and slight wear to the surface, overall in excellent condition. Inner diameter 48 mm (1 7/8 inches), outer diameter 2 3/8 inches. Part of a small Massachusetts collection of Peking glass.

English Imari design Porcelain Cup, Ca. early 1800's, 2 3/8" high, 3 1/8" diameter-top rim, brilliant colorful large floral decorated with highlighted in gold, some gold decoration is somewhat rubbed off, specially on the top rim.
Chinese Blue and White Dish, Plate, Ca. 1920, 5 3/8" diameter, 1" high, with underglaze Peony flower in the center, sprigs of vine with leaves in the center of the dish and blue rim, Chinese Character on the bottom, in good condition.
A blue transfer printed “Stone China” or ironstone dinner plate by John and William Ridgway, marked on the back with the pattern and ‘J. W. R.” 10 ¼ inches (26 cm) diameter. Gadroon edge and good clear printing in dark blue. Circa 1820.
Condition: No cracks or hairlines. Two chips to the foot ring and a minute flake to the glaze on the rim and one at the edge of the well. Very minor knife scratches.
Late 19th century Japanese ojime (slide bead for tightening the cord going from netsuke to inro) in a form of a natural fruit pit skillfully carved with 2 scenes of scholars engaged in discussions among bamboo and banana plants. Very good carving in deep relief with precise undercutting, nice mellow patina, overall in excellent condition. Height 0.57 inches.
19th century small underglaze blue and white Japanese Arita porcelain sweetmeat dish used during tea ceremony, in lozenge shape with decoration of 2 boys among bushes on the inside, and scrolling vines on the outside. Very nice potting with indented corners, wonderful thick glaze with minute bubbles, beautiful dark spots in the paste consistent with age. Very good quality freehand painting, overall in excellent condition. Length 4 1/8 inches.
Japanese cotton hanten made of indigo-dyed cotton for a child. Decorated with a paste resist design of joyful, spinning pinwheel-like motifs. A large red character on the back and four more in white on the front collar.

A very English copper bachelor button – a substitute for an ordinary sewn-on button - Victorian, for your cloak or jacket, works excellently. Punch sitting, feather pen in hand, looking at the latest issue of his magazine, dated November 1878, his watchful dog Toby by his side. Interestingly, a diamond patent mark is seen under the chair. Unusual, marked ”The Patent Safety Solitaire”. Diameter "1/ 2.5 cm.
