A rare Vietnamese 15th century blue and white seated figure of Dragon, figural shape with flatt unglazed base, decorated with under glaze blue, good condition with small damage at the tail reatored, size: 11 cm height.

This is an Annamese Blue and White water dropper in the shape of baby elephant from 15th - early 16th century, found in shipwreck. Height 6cm / Length (nose to its' back) 7cm. It was export ware to South East Asian Region, can be in many form eg. frog, monkey, tortoise, fish, and etcs. Its' glaze and condition overall still intact except of glaze peeling at the edges of ears and trunk caused by corrosion of sea water, water hole not thru...

 

This is a very fine and extremely rare pipe from Venezuela known as a pipas angulares de barro procedentes. There is only one book written on Aztec pipes. "Pipas Precortesianas" was written by Muriel N. Porter. Porter states that Aztec pipes are extremely scarce and "we can almost say that pipes were unknown." There is a drawing in this book of this class/type of pipe. Of course, tobacco wasn't available until the Spaniards introduced it...

Throughout Chinese history, the Phoenix has been associated with the female principle and, most importantly, with the Empress. This large, reticulated bronze plaque retains excellent detailing and significant amounts of its original gilding. It measures just under 4" in height and slightly more than 4" in width. Ex Hong Kong art market early 1990's.

Extremely nice Chinese silverwork artefact. A so called lock pendant. My field is porcelain and unfortunately I am not so familiar with silverwork. Although I am confident, that it is Quing dynasy, this extremely nice work looks a littlebit like it would be a Yuan Dynasty piece. Excavated at Sangihe Island north Sulawesi Indonesia. Death mask, made from a thin bronze sheet subtly formed as a man's broad face, chased with eyes, a nose, mouth and rounded cheeks, as well as a mustache. Tiny attachment hole on each side of the top (one missing). Fine slightly encrusted green, blue and red patina. China, Liao Dynasty (907-1125). Height: 18,5 cm. The mask is nicely mounted on a custom stand. A few small areas missing, tiny hole on the nose, otherwise good condition...

Small cast bronze incense burner. Ding (tripod) shape. Beautiful casting and neat finish. The sobriety of the decor and the perfection of the volumes giving this small creation a powerful yet elegant appearance suggest that it is a very old censer, probably from the Song period. An excellent very old patina stained with verdigris in places would be compatible with this earlier period. Height 82mm. Fine condition.
