Hanging from the belt on a leather strap, the stylized milking hook was the essential item of ornamentation for any Tibetan woman properly dressed for a festival. Surrounding the hook surface is a heavy etched silver band. The bronze/brass hook has is etched with markings and is inset with 5 large beads, set in silver bezels. The original leather strap shows lots of wear.

The Guan Yin is in good condition. It has no repairs and shows only some wears of age, which emphasizes the antique charakter.

This is a fine Japanese vase from the Meiji era with impeccable workmanship. The silver wire work and thick enamel are flawless much like a Namikawa Yasayuki piece. It is also has the weight of a Namikawa piece, but could have been created by Honda or Shibata. The high quality of this vase is more apparent when in hand. It is adorned with 30 butterflies. The vase stands 6 inches tall and is in excellent condition.
This small ivory carving of a geisha is a late Meiji period (1868~1911) product. It is 3 1/8" high, 1 1/4" wide and a little less than 1" thick. It depicts a geisha bowing her head demurely and looking at the floor. Her right hand holds her kimono robe closed; her left hand rests on her chest. The artist signature is on the bottom. It is in great condition.

Stunning Antique Japanese ema or wooden plaque on which Shinto worshippers would write their prayers and wishes to be received by deities or spirits. Hand painted with three bannered ships coming to shore amidst rough, rolling waves. Pine trees poke in from the bottom and leftmost side with gold flakes accenting the horizon. This pair of Chinese lotus shoes were made by a woman of limited finances. She bought what materials were needed for the vamp and supplemented with the use of rough home spun fabric scraps to cover the shaped heals and soles.
