A medium sized carved wood Hopi Kachina doll - Hornet Kachina (Tatangaya) circa 1930. Description of Tatangaya from Colton: "Two types...At Second and Third Mesas he wears a green case mask with datura flower ears. Stripes of all colors surround the face. Cloth ruff, breech clout, and green moccasins. Yellow and red body paint. The Hornet Kachina appears in groups or singly in Mixed Kachina Dance, and the Pamuya. He is said to be of Zuni origin." A medium sized Hopi Kachina doll carved by Wilson Tewaquaptewa circa 1930. Tewaquaptewa (1871-1960) was the last chief of Old Oraibi. He produced Kachina dolls which are a combination of many dolls and figments of his own imagination. He believed that you didn't carve actual Kachinas for the tourist market. His dolls are usually monochromatic in color (brown, ochre and white and black). His use of symbols, painted on the case mask, seems to be arbitrary. DIMENSIONS: 7" tall.

Up for sale is a red silk Chinese dragon robe embroidered with ten 5-claw dragons chasing flaming pearl, clouds, sea waves, cranes and bats, and other Buddhist auspicious objects executed in forbidden stitch, long & wide sleeves; backed with red silk lining; excellent condition, bright red silk ground - Some orange color from pictures is actually the effect of flash light.

A thinly potted bowl with a carved decoration and glazed with an nice pale blue Qingbai glaze. Northern Song Dynasty ( 1127 - 1279 ) There is an old Chinese inscription to the unglazed base. Diameter : 15,8 cm. H : 4,9 cm. Condition : One old, very small chip resp. frit to the rim. Further in perfect condition with an nice "ping" tone when tapped.

A good Song Yuan longquan celadon large bowl, rounded side with deep center and glazed base, bowl decorated with 35 carved raising lotus petal motif at the exterior, covered with good green glaze.

This interesting and finely carved Japanese ivory okimono is a mid-19th century product. It is 6” high, 2” wide and 1” thick. It depicts one adult and one youngster engaged in folk dancing. The man is wearing a traditional hat called “Kazaori Eboshi.” He has raised his two arms up and is holding drum mallets. The boy is holding a paper fan. The artist’s signature “Yoshiaki” is on the base...

A fine antique Chinese carved zitan wood Buddha or Bodhisattva Monk figure. Exquisite artistic finely carved details from one solid piece of Zitan wood the hardest of all woods very rare. Carved features as in the image of a carved bamboo stock Chinese date mark on reverse. Measuring 18.5 inches tall or 47 cm. A museum quality piece.

Chinese Blanc De Chine Libation Cup of rhinoceros horn form. With applied decoration on one side, of a tiger below a dragon and prunus, the other side with a deer below a stork and pine. Of a warm colour. Kangxi L17thC. Length 9.6cm. Height 5.5cm. Condition: excellent, no chips, cracks or restoration.

This rectangular jade (nephrite) pendant (or plaque) is 3 ¼” long, 2” wide and 3/16” thick. It is an early 20th century product. It is carved on both sides as a stylized dragon surrounded by Ling Zhi (lucky mushroom). Aside from a small chip (less than 1/8” long) on the side, it is in good condition.

This carved hardwood cup is 5” high, 4 ½” wide, 3 3/4” thick (both measured from the top). It is an early 20th century product. It depicts three sages surrounded by a river scene. Two sages and their young servant are on a boat; one sage is standing on the river bank. A huge rock, an old pine tree and some unknown trees make the scene very peaceful. Aside from a few small crack lines due to the age of the wood, it is in great condition.

This late 19th century Chinese jade (nephrite) carving of a reclining camel and foreign grooms is 2 ¾” high, 4 ¼” long and 2” thick. It depicts a reclining camel turning its head to the three grooms; one is climbing on the camel’s hump while the other two are leaning on its side. It is in great condition.

This late Meiji white molded ceramic netsuke is 1 5/8” long, 1” high and 1 ¼” wide. It depicts a reclining Shi Shi (lion) with its mouth wide open and a loose ball inside. Aside from some tiny black spots due to the firing, it is in very good condition.

A Wonderful Pair of German Silver (835 standard) Candelabra, Made in Germany, circa 1890. It has three arms and an Art Nouveau design. All bobeches are intact. Dimensions; 9.75" high x 11.5" wide. Weight; 15.5 Troy ounces each, slightly weighted. Excellent condition.

Large head of Buddha, with a nicely rendered face, its slight smile and lowered eyes reflecting a profound inner serenity. Dry lacquer, with remnants of the original gilding. 1800s

This shallow dish is well-carved translucent green jade with bands of blackish coloring with speckles of gray and white. Two handles carved as butterflies extend from the rim. It is evenly carved inside and out with the base raised on a low footring, also very well-carved. The overall pattern in the jade suggests a landscape or cloud effect. A section of the well was broken and restuck in the past, and is reflected in the price. Except for the break, the condition is good...

A Korean Rare Early Punchon Stoneware Rice-Bail Shape Jar: Korea, Joseon dynasty, 15th century The Punchong jar brushed white slip and then covered with a clear, greenish celadon glaze over all surfaces, its brush marks appears through a greenish glaze. It’s in fine condition except 2 part repairs on the rim and burial ruat stains. Measurements: 23cm x 12.2cm H.
